Aujourd’hui marque la fin de deux programmes après plusieurs mois de formation, de rencontres et d’apprentissages à travers le territoire. Nous avons également l’honneur d’accueillir Ted Moses parmi nous pour cette journée marquante. De Uashat à Kahnawà:ke, en passant par Manawan, les cohortes des programmes Gouvernance et Réconciliation économique se réunissent aujourd’hui à HEC Montréal pour clôturer leur parcours avec les présentations des projets des leaders venus de partout sur le territoire.

Today marks the completion of two programs after several months of learning, connection, and shared experiences across the land. We also have the honour of welcoming Ted Moses with us for this meaningful day. From Uashat to Kahnawà:ke, through Manawan, the Governance and Economic Reconciliation cohorts are gathering today at HEC Montréal to close their journey with project presentations by leaders from across the land.

We are delighted to share the creation of the Circle of Alliance with First Peoples. This new co-direction marks an important step in strengthening our institutional ties and stems directly from our 3rd strategic orientation: strengthened governance with and HEC Montréal. The Circle reflects our values of collaboration, innovation, respect and reciprocity, and will be co-led by Ghislain Picard and Marine Agogué. Aujourd’hui et demain, nous sommes à la Conférence annuelle 2026 du Secrétariat Nation Crie AT / Secretariat Cree Nation AT, à Val-d’Or, sous le thème « Territoire, ressources et alliances : un Nord plus fort, ensemble! »

Ce matin, Ghislain Picard et Marc Du Sault ont animé l’atelier « Réconciliation économique : Il était une fois sur ce territoire… des premiers contacts aux véritables partenariats », ouvrant la discussion sur les relations entre les Premiers Peuples, les gouvernements et les industries, ainsi que sur les pistes concrètes pour bâtir de véritables partenariats.

Today and tomorrow, we are at SAENCAT’s 2026 Annual Conference in Val-d’Or, under the theme “Territory, Resources and Alliances: A Stronger North, Together!”

This morning, Ghislain Picard and Marc Du Sault led the workshop “Economic Reconciliation: Once Upon a Time in This Land… From First Contact to True Partnerships,” opening the conversation on relationships between First Peoples, governments and industries, and on concrete ways to build true partnerships.

Le festival KWE À la rencontre des peuples autochtones bat son plein sous un magnifique soleil et se poursuit aujourd’hui et demain! Quel bonheur d’y avoir été hier pour faire rayonner notre mission, renforcer notre présence auprès des communautés et mettre de l’avant notre engagement envers le développement du leadership et l’autodétermination des .

Lors du panel « Relève autochtone : tracer son chemin », notre directrice, Nathalie Huntley, Jay Launière-Mathias, coresponsable pédagogique du programme, et Lily Bellefleur, participante de la 2e cohorte, ont partagé leurs perspectives sur notre programme de la Relève et sur la manière dont il accompagne les leaders de demain à tracer leur propre chemin.

Cette présence coïncidait également avec la conclusion, à Québec, de la 4e cohorte du programme de la Relève. Une belle journée pour souligner le chemin parcouru et les prochaines possibilités offertes aux jeunes des Premières Nations!

The KWE! Festival is in full swing under beautiful sunshine and continues today and tomorrow! It was a joy to be there yesterday to showcase FNEE’s mission, strengthen our presence alongside communities, and highlight our commitment to First Nations leadership development and self-determination.

During the panel “Indigenous Youth: Paving the Way,” our Director, Nathalie Huntley, Jay Launière-Mathias, the program’s academic co-lead, and Lily Bellefleur, a participant from the 2nd cohort, shared their perspectives on our Next Generation Program and how it supports tomorrow’s leaders as they forge their own paths.

Our presence also coincided with the conclusion of the Next Generation's 4th cohort also in Québec City. A meaningful day to celebrate the journey so far and the opportunities ahead for First Nations youth!

🌿 Une semaine riche en apprentissages, en rencontres et en découvertes se termine pour la 4e cohorte du programme de la !

Au fil des derniers jours, les membres de la cohorte ont approfondi l’art de la communication en contexte professionnel avec Brigitte Skeene et Jay Launière-Mathias, rencontré Martin Lagacé de l’APNQL - AFNQL puis exploré les rouages de la politique avec Ian Picard et Jolianne Ottawa.

Mercredi, le groupe a eu le privilège de rencontrer l’honorable Manon Jeannotte, Lieutenante-gouverneure du Québec. Hier, la relève a poursuivi son parcours avec une visite guidée de l’Assemblée nationale du Québec et une rencontre avec Manon Massé.

La semaine s’est poursuivie avec l’atelier Voix d’expérience, regards d’avenir, animé par Ghislain Picard, avant une cérémonie de clôture avec l’Aînée Diane Andicha Picard.

Bravo à ces jeunes leaders pour leur engagement, leur curiosité et les liens créés tout au long de ce parcours. Une belle étape franchie pour continuer à tracer son chemin, ensemble. ✨

🌿 What an enriching week of learning, meaningful encounters and discovery for the 4th cohort of the Program!

Over the past few days, cohort members explored the art of professional communication with Brigitte Skeene and Jay Launière-Mathias, met with Martin Lagacé from the AFNQL, and learned more about politics with Ian Picard and Jolianne Ottawa.

On Wednesday, the group had the privilege of meeting the Honourable Manon Jeannotte at the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Québec. Yesterday, the cohort continued its journey with a guided tour of the National Assembly of Québec and a meeting with Manon Massé.

The week continued with the workshop Voices of Experience, Looking to the Future, led by Ghislain Picard, followed by a closing ceremony with Elder Diane Andicha Picard.

Congratulations to these young leaders for their engagement, curiosity and the connections built throughout this journey. Another meaningful step forward as they continue to trail forward, together. ✨
