Reflecting on a deeper understanding of guilt and shame:

1.Guilt and External Beliefs: Guilt often emerges when you feel you’ve violated a standard or expectation that doesn’t align with your own values or beliefs. This can happen when you are judged by or judge yourself against external or imposed standards.
2.Shame and Internal Beliefs: Shame tends to arise when you perceive that you’ve failed to meet standards or values that you personally hold or believe to be intrinsic to your identity. It is more about internalized beliefs and self-judgment.

In essence, guilt is related to external expectations and can be mitigated by realigning with personal values, while shame is tied to internalized beliefs and requires addressing self-perception and self-acceptance.

Embarking on a coaching journey became my path to healing. I found myself hitting the same wall in external interactions, looking for support and recognition in all the wrong places until I discovered a way to break free from recurring patterns. Overcoming letdowns and gaining clarity allowed me to see reality and instead create a healthy space where I can assume positive intentions from others.
