Location: Montague, PE
Work location: On-site. Salary: 17 to $ 31.12 per hour (To be negotiated)
30 / 40 hours per week
Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full-time, fill-in, starts as soon as possible
Experience: 1 year - 2 years
Job duties:
● To create and implement programs for children that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children between the ages of 2 and 5 years old.
● To lead activities by reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interest by following the ELF framework and providing opportunities to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music and physical activity.
● To take care of the well-being of the children by making sure their environment is clean and safe, and the children are properly cared for (proper hygiene, bum changes, food safety).
● To assess the children’s abilities, interests, and needs and discuss them with parents and other staff members under the guidance of the Early Learning Framework of the PEI Preschool Excellence Initiative.
● To observe children for learning challenges or behavioural problems. If something is suspected, then prepare reports for parents/guardians or professionals.
● To help children with their food routine for proper eating, dressing and toileting.
