We’ve been busy soaking up everything spring has to offer! 🌷

The last few months have been filled with muddy adventures, puddle jumping, park trips, and visits to the ducks at the pond. The children have loved exploring the outdoors, getting their hands dirty, and discovering all the amazing things happening in nature this time of year.

One of our biggest interests this spring has been bugs! 🐛🦋 We’ve spent lots of time observing insects, reading stories, asking questions, and learning about the tiny creatures that share our world. Right now, we’re eagerly waiting for our caterpillars to form their chrysalides, and we can’t wait to watch the rest of their life cycle unfold before releasing beautiful butterflies into the world.

It’s been a season full of curiosity, exploration, learning, and laughter—and we’re looking forward to all the adventures summer will bring! ☀️

We’ve had such a fun and busy month here at Nurturing Nook! ☘️🐣

From celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and Easter with art, activities, dancing and lots of smiles, to getting out and exploring, on exciting outings - we’ve been making the most of each day. We visited the indoor splash pad, Centennial Park, and Hop Skip Jump, and the kids had an absolute blast playing, exploring, and trying new things!

We’ve also continued with the children’s interests in health and been learning all about germs and how to stay healthy, which led to a very special visit from a paramedic 🚑 The children loved getting a tour of the ambulance and learning about how helpers in our community keep us safe.

So proud of how much these little ones are learning and growing each day 💛

The past month and a half has been full of fun, exploring, and lots of learning through play! We’ve been making the most of the winter days by getting outside whenever we can-visiting local parks and trails, going on neighborhood walks, and even taking a few special field trips to the museum, Centennial and the Rotary Park. The children love exploring new places and it always leads to so many great learning experiences and conversations!

Inside, we’ve kept busy with plenty of hands-on activities. We have had lots of sensory play. One of our favorites was making a “friendship potion” filled with water and LOTS of sparkles.✨ The children love painting, process art, and testing new science experiments together.

February also brought our Valentine’s Day celebration, which was such a sweet day filled with games, treats, cards and lots of kindness between friends ❤️

One of the recent biggest highlights has been creating our new dramatic play Doctor’s Office! The children helped set it up by cutting things out, choosing where items should go, and getting everything ready. Since then, it has been a favorite area in the classroom — lots of checkups, listening to hearts, checking ears, and taking very good care of their friends. 🩺

It’s been so wonderful watching the children’s friendships grow and seeing how much pride they take in the things we create and explore together. Here are some snapshots from all the fun we’ve had lately 😊

Winter fun has been in full swing around here! The children have been busy exploring all things winter. From snowy forest adventures and exciting science experiments to winter art invitations, learning about Arctic animals, and lots of movement through sledding, park days, and obstacle courses—there truly hasn’t been a dull moment. We’ve rescued frozen animals, painted beautiful ice balls, gone ice fishing and created animal tracks. The children have been so engaged, curious, and proud of their discoveries!

Winter truly offers so many rich learning opportunities, and the children remind us every day to slow down and find the beauty in each season… they certainly see it all around them 🤍❄️

December has been full of holiday fun!🎄✨
From our Christmas formal dance and holiday games, to catching sneaky gingerbread men, saving the presents from the Grinch and creating beautiful snowflake art — we’ve had quite an exciting month!

From colourful fall leaves to snowy winter days, the children have been busy exploring, creating, and discovering the world around them. Each day is filled with learning through play—building friendships, gaining confidence, and following their natural curiosity. It has been such a joy watching our little community grow, and we look forward to sharing small snapshots of our journey with you 💛
