Atlantic Ballet Atlantique Canada We are one of Canada’s top ballet companies, touring across North America and Europe.

One of Canada's most exciting ballet companies, and based in Moncton, New Brunswick, Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada tours nationally and internationally. Stunning visual impact and a deep emotional connection with its audiences have made this Company popular with audiences around the world. The Company was launched in the middle of an Atlantic coast blizzard in March 2002 and took the Canadian dance scene by storm. Dedicated to performing the original works by one choreographer - Founding Artistic Director Igor Dobrovolskiy – the Company creates original full-length ballets at home in Moncton and tours them across Atlantic Canada, throughout Canada and to the US and Europe. In 2009-2010, the Company tours AMADEUS to France and Switzerland and its newest production, ROMEO AND JULIET FANTASY to Florida and Atlantic Canada. In September 2010, the Company will open another world premiere ballet at "Beethovenfest" in Bonn, Germany. Beyond the mainstage, and wherever we tour, our education and outreach programs have provided unique opportunities for communities, schools, children, and families to personally connect to the arts. Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, our studios are closed to honour and reflect on the survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities. 🧡

Looking forward, Atlantic Ballet is proud of the work we are doing through Atlantic Ballet Indigenous to support the next generation through the Mawiamalga’tijig / Mawokahtine Intercultural Indigenous Dance Program.
As part of this journey, we are honoured to share this video of our dance students creating their own moccasins under the guidance of a renowned beadwork artist Melcom Beaulieu. For a dancer, footwear is a sacred connection to movement; crafting these by hand weaves heritage, identity, and resilience directly into the steps they take.

Atlantic Ballet Atlantique Canada recognizes the unceded traditional territory of the Wabanaki people. We honour the history, culture, and strength of Indigenous communities across the Wabanaki Confederacy. We are dedicated to working together to support a future where Indigenous voices, art, and leadership continue to be heard, uplifted, and celebrated.

Dans le cadre de ce cheminement, nous sommes honorés de partager cette vidéo de nos élèves en danse qui confectionnent leurs propres mocassins sous la direction de Melcom Beaulieu, artiste de renom en perlage. Pour une danseuse ou un danseur, les chaussures représentent un lien sacré avec le mouvement. En les fabriquant à la main, nos élèves intègrent leur héritage, leur identité et leur résilience à chacun de leurs pas.

Le Ballet de l'Atlantique reconnaît le territoire traditionnel non cédé des peuples de la Confédération Wabanaki. Nous honorons l'histoire, la culture et la force de leurs communautés. Nous nous engageons à travailler ensemble pour bâtir un avenir où les voix, l'art et le leadership autochtones continuent d'être entendus, valorisés et célébrés.

On October 28, IMPACTfest 2026 presents UNITE, an evening of dance by three of Canada's leading Indigenous contemporary choreographers: Santee Smith, Jera Wolfe, and Sarah Prosper.

Blood, Water, Earth traces a ritual renewal from cosmos to earth, honouring the strength and shared experience of Indigenous women. AZURE, a world premiere from Jera Wolfe, explores the movement and solitude of a freelance artist's life. Ps+ke'kn Sqolj reflects on memory carried through the body and passed across generations.

Together, these three pieces bring tradition, resilience, and contemporary movement to the stage at the Théâtre Capitol Theatre .

Atlantic Ballet was happy to welcome back the students of the Mawiamalga'tijig / Mawokahtine Intercultural Indigenous Dance Program for the beginning of their second year of training.

We were thrilled to have Mel Beaulieu, proud member of Metepenagiag First Nation, living and creating in Fredericton, New Brunswick, join us. Our students had the opportunity to work with Mel on the creation of their own moccasins, which they will wear as part of their year-end performance.

In their work, Mel blends traditional craftsmanship with intricate beadwork. Our students were grateful to learn from them. We are looking forward to seeing the final result.

Atlantic Ballet Atlantique a eu le plaisir d'accueillir à nouveau les élèves du programme de danse interculturel autochtone Mawiamalga'tijig / Mawokahtine pour le début de leur deuxième année de formation.

Nous étions ravis de recevoir Mel Beaulieu, qui fait partie avec fierté de la Première Nation de Metepenagiag et qui vit et crée à Fredericton, au Nouveau-Brunswick. Nos élèves ont eu l'occasion de travailler aux côtés de Mel à la création de leurs propres mocassins, que les élèves porteront lors de leur spectacle de fin d'année.

Dans son travail, Mel allie l'artisanat traditionnel à un perlage minutieux. Nos élèves ont grandement apprécié cette occasion d'apprendre à ses côtés. Nous avons hâte de voir le résultat final.
