Director of Programs and Development
About Us:
Parent for Bilingual Education (PBE), research-informed, volunteer organization that furthers bilingualism by promoting opportunities to learn and use French for all those who call New Brunswick home.
Formally Canadian Parents for French, PBE was founded in 1977 by parents who wanted to ensure that children would have the opportunity to become bilingual in the Canadian school system.
About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a part-time three day a week, bilingual, Director of Programs and Development to join the team. The position supports the Executive Director and the organization in these key areas:
Guide and support in organizational strategy development for programs, advocacy and funding diversification.
In collaboration with the Branch Executive Director, complete funding and grant applications, report on results to funders, to the board and to the membership.
Manage financial resources in collaboration with the CPF Network staff.
Support advocacy and media strategy implementation, participate in network advocacy initiatives and manage provincial government relations.
Key responsibilities:
Leads PBENB initiatives by developing and maintaining solid relationships with existing and potential funders, partners and key stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives.
Envisions and implements a long-term financial strategy, risk management, marketing and communication plans for organizational sustainability and growth.
Ensures compliance with applicable federal and provincial laws and regulations, Board directives and By-Laws, Policies, and procedures
Ensures a consistent professional brand and image for the Branch within the national network organization
Manages staff and contractors responsible for service delivery, programming, outreach communications, advocacy and effective operations, and responds to emergent strategic priorities as needed.
Programs
Identifies, leads and analyzes traditional and non-traditional program opportunities for impact.
Monitors performance indicators for all program delivery efforts in assigned region. Reports on impact and status of budgets to the Executive Director and the Branch Boards.
Completes summary project reports with different audiences in mind: funders, potential sponsors and the general membership.
Development
Identifies, leads and supports new opportunities for funding development (project funding, grants, donorship strategy)
Manages proposal process start to finish. Monitors performance indicators and reports on results to the Executive Director and the Branch Executive.
Assists in developing the goals of the funding diversification strategy including managing the Branch annual fundraising campaigns, building and supporting relationships with potential donors, (individuals and representatives of organizations).
About You:
We strongly value your talent, energy and passion combined with the following:
A minimum of 3 years recent, relevant, executive-level management or leadership experience preferably in the not-for-profit sector, including working with a Board of Directors
A hands-on self-starter who exhibits a proactive mindset with excellent communication, relationship-building and influencing skills, and the ability to effectively manage through change and growth
Recent experience with respect to managerial responsibility for project implementation, strategic and business planning techniques and financial and compliance risk analysis
Strong analytical and strategic thinker who thrives in environments that require flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to change
Strong attention to detail
Bilingual (French and English) with ability to participate in French and English meetings, and respond orally and in writing in both languages
Demonstrate a commitment to the CPF mission and models the ethics of the organization.
This will catch our attention:
Post-secondary education in a related field
Degree, diploma, certificate, or designation in association management, project management or willingness to complete such certification, Passion for French Second Language Training.
