The other day we had our dress up and bring a book day in the Three Fours! We saw all kinds of amazing costumes like Elsa, Elsa and another Elsa. Some dressed as super hero's, a dinosaur and even Bingo made an appearance. With that, we also brought our favourite stories to read and share with our friends. To finish off our special event day, there was a costume parade through the day care.
Though this was a dress up and book day, we saw lots of growth in the children. Negotiations with others about sharing our books, learning how we can be more like our characters and growing in our confidence with others.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support the Summer Campers Family Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser last week!

Your support meant so much to the children, who worked hard during this event. From preparing and serving breakfast to greeting family members with big smiles.
Another memorable event for the children while showing them the value of teamwork, service, and giving back.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who came out this week to support our Kinder Kamp Lemonade & Popsicle Fundraiser!

The children had so much fun helping make the lemonade and popsicles, and they especially enjoyed tasting their hard work too! Your support means so much and helps make fun learning experiences like this possible. Yummy, yummy in our tummies!

Thank you for making our fundraiser such a sweet success!

Earlier this week the Three Four's brought the beach to our classroom. We dressed up for the beach with our sunglasses and sun hats. Then we brought the water table into the class to really bring the beach to life! The children had so much fun on this hot day and spending time at our "beach". We had some conversations about what we see at the beach. We heard words like "sand", "water", and "sharks". With it being a part of New Brunswick, it was great for us to make those connections.

New Brunswick's Curriculum Framework of what the children were learning during this activity.
-Imagination and Creativity (Play and Playfulness)
-Seeing people, places and things in new ways (Play and Playfulness)
-Inclusiveness and equality (Diversity and Social Responsibility)
-Learning about and engaging with communities representative of New Brunswick society.

June is National Indigenous History Month, so the After School #2 class stayed busy last week learning about Indigenous cultures and traditions. The children practiced printing their own names and learning how to pronounce each other's names in the Cree language. We also discussed what a totem pole is and the meanings and stories it can represent. The children then made their own totem poles about themselves and their families reflecting their personal stories. They used a variety of natural materials and art supplies to design unique creations that celebrated their identities and creativity.
