While we still have some summer heat, do you know what it feels like to be drained from the sun and in need of refreshment? That kind of feeling can go beyond a tired body down to your spirit's weariness. Looking ahead to a new teaching series, Pastor Daniel began on Sunday by introducing the theme of life-giving water throughout Scripture. As Fall approaches (just a hint in the air already!), we are warming up for another season of Gospel Music Jam nights! We are kicking things off this September on Saturday, September 5 for a night of live music and fellowship. Have you been struggling with loss? Do you have a friend needing support in their grief? This fall, we are launching GriefShare. GriefShare is a support group that offers a safe, welcoming place for people to journey together through the difficult emotions of grief. In this 13-week group, we will discuss what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way.

Each participant will receive a workbook, with a cost of $25, and pre-registration is required so that we can order ahead. Please email the office if you have any questions or want to register.

This past weekend was our Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada (CBAC) Oasis, where delegates from our church families gathered for business, fellowship, and collective worship. During our 3 rallies, we heard messages from our Executive Minister, Renee MacVicar, and Dr. Mark Jefferson. These powerful messages share the theme of making "Longer Tables" in a world that can leave us closed off. In either case, a good gift is often something that took intentionality, care, and love, ensuring that the recipient would use/enjoy it.
