While we still have some summer heat, do you know what it feels like to be drained from the sun and in need of refreshment? That kind of feeling can go beyond a tired body down to your spirit's weariness. Looking ahead to a new teaching series, Pastor Daniel began on Sunday by introducing the theme of life-giving water throughout Scripture. While we all search for refreshment, Jesus says that he offers waters of life that will satisfy. Click the link to listen to the first part of this new series:

Have you ever been caught ignoring someone as they spoke to you? Sometimes, you may hear someone without actually listening to them (and you can even listen to someone without following through and doing what they asked!). As Jesus concludes his Sermon on the Mount, he tells his listeners that they must choose whether or not they will respond to his message. Have you been struggling with loss? Do you have a friend needing support in their grief? This fall, we are launching GriefShare. GriefShare is a support group that offers a safe, welcoming place for people to journey together through the difficult emotions of grief. In this 13-week group, we will discuss what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way.
Each participant will receive a workbook, with a cost of $25, and pre-registration is required so that we can order ahead. Please email the office if you have any questions or want to register.

This past weekend was our Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada (CBAC) Oasis, where delegates from our church families gathered for business, fellowship, and collective worship. During our 3 rallies, we heard messages from our Executive Minister, Renee MacVicar, and Dr. Mark Jefferson. These powerful messages share the theme of making "Longer Tables" in a world that can leave us closed off. If you would like to listen to these messages, they can be found on the Oasis 2026 website here:

What has been your most-memorable gift? Maybe you gave a gift that you are especially proud of, or perhaps you've received a gift that you were amazed by. In either case, a good gift is often something that took intentionality, care, and love, ensuring that the recipient would use/enjoy it. In his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus describes how his heavenly Father loves to give good gifts to his children. Over the long weekend, Pastor Daniel took some time to dig into this and look at how Jesus reveals the great gifts from God. Click the link to listen now:

What is something that you would "give anything" for? For some, they dream of seeing their favourite singer at a live concert, while others are working hard for a promotion. Whatever your priority might be, it is something that you are willing to make sacrifices for, and the more you value it, the more you are willing to give up for it. This week, Pastor Daniel looks at how Jesus describes the lasting value of "treasures of earth," and how they pale in comparison to something greater. Click the link to listen now:
