🎉 BIG SURPRISE! Introducing a brand-new scholarship at McKenzie College of Design! 🎉
We are thrilled to announce The McKenzie Idea Centre Creative Scholarship - a $1,500 annual award created in partnership with IDEA Centre Moncton !
At McKenzie, we are elevating our scholarship offerings this year to champion the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, and creative problem-solvers. The Idea Centre empowers youth to tackle real-world challenges, and we want to help turn those bold ideas into successful careers!
We recently surprised the very first recipient of this award, Emma Guitard, recent graduate of Harrison Trimble High School.
Emma is heading into our Visual Communication Design program this coming Fall, and her drive, critical thinking, and collaborative spirit made her the perfect choice for this inaugural scholarship.
Please join us in celebrating Emma! We can’t wait to see the incredible impact she’ll make at McKenzie and beyond.

Francophone creators bring something unique to the games space: story, perspective, originality and a creative voice that really connects.
We welcomed Francophone creators to a Co-Production Workshop at McKenzie College of Design with Pierre Moisan, Matt Toner from Shred Capital and other game designers and animators from around the Maritimes.
And it was awesome!
From storytelling and animation to funding structures and co-production models, the day gave creators a clearer sense of how ideas can turn into interactive media, and why Francophone creators have an edge in that process.
Thank you to Pierre and Matt for sharing their insights and experience, and a BIG thank you to Shred Capital and InteractiveNB for organizing this workshop.

Summer at McKenzie College of Design is where creativity gets hands-on, a little messy and seriously fun 🎨
Our 2026 Summer Creative Camps are now open for registration. If you've got young artists between the ages of 8-15, we have camps that will teach them new techniques, help them explore new ideas and give them a chance to create work they’re proud of in a real studio environment.
From painting and sculpture to animation and photography, each camp is built to help kids learn by creating. They’ll experiment, build skills, take creative risks, and develop their own style along the way.
🖌️ Art Camp
Drawing, painting, pastel, sculpture, and more, with projects inspired by both famous works and original ideas.
💻 Animation Camp
Character design, storyboarding, claymation, classical animation, and short film creation using digital tools and software.
📸Photography Camp
Composition, lighting, camera basics, and visual storytelling using either a digital camera or phone camera.
Every week wraps up with a Friday showcase, screening, or gallery so family and friends can see what the campers created.

From classroom to career, faster than you think! 🎮👏
Zoe and Karine, recent grads from McKenzie College of Design's Game Art & Animation department, are already building their first original ‘rogue-like’ video game concept under the guidance and mentorship of our instructors in our McKenzie studio.
Recently, they shared an early animatic of their game trailer - the story, gameplay and concept art - and brought current students into the process with a live brainstorming session with the goal of naming the game.
Real ambition. Real feedback. Real opportunities.
This is what students leave McKenzie with:
→ hands-on experience
→ industry-ready portfolios
→ the confidence to step into creative careers
Check out https://www.artstation.com/headpunchstudio2 to see where their work goes next.
If your student is interested in a future in Game Art & Animation, come see what that path can look like. Book a campus tour today, just send us a message.
