A strong signal proves only one thing: a signal exists.

It does not prove you're following the intended facility.

In Regina, participants in LMI Locator Training examined how current can transfer through bonded networks, divide across branches, and create convincing responses that don't always represent the utility being sought.

Too often, locates become an exercise in confirmation rather than investigation.

Professional locators ask harder questions:

• Where is the current flowing?
• Why is it flowing there?
• What evidence supports that conclusion?
• What evidence challenges it?

Competency isn't about finding a signal.

It's about understanding the behavior behind it.

Safe Digging Month has wrapped up!

Here are some key take aways from our review of the PROPPER phases of safe digging this past month!

Every ground disturber must first Plan the scope of work, Review all facility documents, and Organize all field personnel. Locators must be contracted to Perform locates, and ground disturbers should then Pre-excavate to confirm facilities. Ground disturbers are then responsible to safely Excavate and Restore the dig site.

And don’t forget to Call or click before you dig! Stay safe!
