In recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Dance Creation Studio will be closed today, September 30.

Today, we take time to reflect, remember, and honour the survivors of residential schools, their families, and the children who never made it home. May we continue to learn, listen, and work toward reconciliation.

This year, we started by coming together.

Not to talk about choreography, schedules or competitions, but to come back to our **why**.

Why are we here? Why do we teach? Why does this matter so much to us?

And somewhere in those conversations, we became even more united in what we want Dance Creation to be.

Because Dance Creation isn’t one teacher, one dancer or one vision. **It’s all of us.**

Different hearts, different strengths, one shared purpose: creating a place where young people can grow, learn, feel at home and become humans with beautiful hearts.

This season, we move forward together. 🤍

This summer, our competition dancers had the opportunity to step into the studio with some truly incredible choreographers, and we wanted to take a moment to celebrate just how special that was. ⭐️

To every choreographer who travelled to our studio and shared a piece of themselves with our dancers: thank you.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge, your creativity, your belief in them, and most of all, your passion for this art.

There is something so powerful about learning from new people. A different perspective, a new way of moving, one piece of advice or one moment of encouragement can stay with a dancer far beyond the class itself.

And this summer, we watched that happen.

Our dancers are walking into this competition season with a new kind of fire, inspired, challenged, more confident, and reminded of why they love to dance in the first place.

We are so grateful for every person who helped spark that. ✨

Here’s to carrying it all forward into another beautiful season of growth, connection, hard work, and so much dance.

Unity. Love. Positivity. Faith. Creativity. Authenticity. Honesty. Growth. Friendship. Confidence. Courage. Kindness. Passion. Belonging. Trust. Resilience. Purpose. Connection. Expression. Joy. Becoming.

These aren’t just words to us. They are pieces of who we are, what we believe in, and the kind of school we continue to work toward every day.

This year is another chance to live these values even louder. To grow closer. To lead with more intention. To create a space where every dancer feels seen, supported, challenged, celebrated, and free to become more of who they are.

We’re not striving for perfection. We’re striving for something meaningful.

And this year, we’re more united than ever in becoming the school we know we can be. 💙💫
