Congratulations to Madame Vienneau and her whole Cast and Crew for putting on Into the Woods Jr at Maplehurst Middle School tonight. What a fantastic show and I love seeing all the kids learning leadership skills.

Running an organization that serves over 21000 students is no easy feat. With so many moving parts, I am grateful and thankful for Superintendent MacLEAN being our guiding light.

As the DEC makes decisions on the direction to District needs to be moving, Superintendent MacLEAN makes good on it within our $248 million budget.

I am so glad that he is boots on the ground and out in all of our schools listening and talking to staff and students.

Here are a few photos from the past 4 years...

Building for the Future

After numerous requests to the Provincial government for new infrastructure to support our growing population, a new school in Dieppe was announced. With strong support from Dieppe City Council, Anglophone East District Education Council approved the Ed Specs for a K-12 school in Dieppe on June 18, 2024.

This school will relieve pressure at Lou MacNarin School, Lewisville Middle School and Moncton High School as up to 600 kids are being bussed daily to these schools.

The Result:

Capacity: 1204 Students K-5 (504) 6-8 (300) 9-12 (400)
Configuration: K-12
Maximum Capacity: 1843 Students

Love it or hate it, Artificial Intelligence is now part of our lives.

In the Fall of 2023, after a presentation from Council's Student Representative, the DEC and Superintendent took steps to give guidance on how to use AI ethically and responsibly in Anglophone East. There are now a number of different platforms that are approved to be used.

Here is a short information video.

Literacy is the first pillar of our District Improvement Plan. We are making improvements and there are successes to be celebrated, but we have to keep working to help every student achieve excellence. A big thank you to our teachers who every day are working hard helping our students improve.

These graphs show the percentage of students that are at the appropriate level or higher in English reading in our district along with the Provincial percentage.
