IMPORTANT UPDATE | NDEB is changing the exam registration process from September 1, 2026.
AFK, ACJ and Virtual OSCE candidates will have two registration periods, with a second opportunity to register or transfer if seats become available.
The updated process also changes transfer rules and withdrawal fees.

AFK exam day is also about protecting your focus.
If you take the break, avoid discussing answers with other candidates. It can make you second-guess questions you have already finished and carry extra stress into the next part.
Use the break to reset and refocus.
Some AFK questions can take more time than they are worth on the first pass. If one is slowing you down, mark it and move on so you can protect time for the rest of the exam.
Coming back later can also help. With less pressure and more context from the questions you have already answered, the same question may feel easier to work through.
One week until the AFK. Your final week is for reviewing what you’ve built, strengthening what you know, and preparing to use it under exam conditions.

Moving from ACJ to NDECC needs changing how you prepare.
ACJ is a computer-based exam, while NDECC includes Clinical Skills and Situational Judgement. The preparation has to move from question-based practice into hands-on clinical work, scenario-based reasoning, mock practice, and feedback.

The documents required to apply for the Virtual OSCE differ depending on your eligibility category. Your application must be received, reviewed, and approved before you can register. Full requirements are listed on the NDEB website under How to Apply.
