August's Skill of the Month: Sorting & Classifying. π΅πΊπ¨
Ask a 3-year-old to sort their toys by colour and watch what happens.
They will not just sort. They will explain. They will correct you if you get it wrong. They will invent a new rule halfway through.
That is not chaos. That is a mathematical mind at work.
Sorting and classifying is one of the very first things the brain learns to do with information - put things that belong together, together. It is how we organise data, spot patterns, and make sense of the world.

Math in the Wild β and this time, it's raining logic. π§οΈ
Most people see a puddle. An i-Maths student sees a physics equation in motion.
The geometry of ripples, the symmetry of a splash crown, the perfect sphere of a water drop on a leaf β nature is constantly solving problems we haven't even thought to ask yet.
We don't just teach children to count. We teach them to ask: why is that circle perfectly round? Why does that drop choose that shape?
Because every great engineer, scientist, and mathematician started with a puddle and a question.

July's Skill of the Month: Comparative Thinking.
Before a child can add, they must understand more.
Before they subtract, they must feel less.
Before they measure, they must ask β which one is bigger, and how do I know?
Comparative Thinking is one of the earliest and most powerful mathematical skills a child develops. It's the brain learning to hold two things at once and find the relationship between them.
At i-Maths, we build this through hands-on tools β blocks of different sizes, shapes of different weights, patterns of different lengths. Not on paper. Not with numbers yet. With their hands, their eyes, and their instincts.
Because before a child can think in equations, they need to think in comparisons.
