“REAL SPIDERS. REAL COLOUR.”

NO FILTER REQUIRED. 🕷️✨

One thing photos never completely capture?

The way some tarantulas change colour depending on the light.

Blue. Green. Pink. Purple.

Then they move three inches and suddenly look completely different.

These aren’t AI-generated spiders and they aren’t stock photos.

These are our spiders.

That’s also why I love sharing actual photos from our collection — you get to see what these animals really look like in somebody’s spider room, not just under perfect studio lighting.

The import is getting close to closing and there are some seriously interesting animals on this list.

🕷️ Keeper Tip: Don’t choose solely from one Google image. Look at juveniles, adults, males and females when researching a species. Appearance can change dramatically with age, s*x, moult and lighting.

Now I want to know:

What colour gets you every time?

💙 Blue
❤️ Red
🧡 Orange
💜 Purple/Pink

“DON’T SHOP ONLY FOR ADULT COLOUR”

This is one of my favourite parts of keeping tarantulas.

They don’t arrive looking like the finished picture you saw online.

You raise them.

You watch the colours change.

You notice that first moult where you suddenly think…

“Okay. NOW I see it.”

For collectors, sometimes the best part isn’t buying the biggest spider available — it’s watching one develop over time.

And imports are a great opportunity to pick up species you’ve wanted to raise from smaller sizes.

🕷️ Collector Tip: When looking through the import list, don’t skip over something just because it’s small. Think about what you want your collection to look like a year or two from now.

Import closes soon.

Would you rather buy a sling and grow it out — or start with a larger juvenile?

Species Spotlight — Homoeomma chilense

There are some tarantulas that grab your attention with size or crazy colours, and then there are species like Homoeomma chilense that just have a really good look to them.

Known as the Chilean Flame Tarantula, this New World terrestrial species comes from central Chile, where the climate is very different from the humid rainforest conditions people often associate with South American tarantulas. They’re found around rocky hillsides, scrubland and areas that experience much more seasonal rainfall and long, dry summers.

The first thing most people notice is that orange patch.

Against the dark body and legs, the warm copper and burnt-orange colouring really stands out, especially after a fresh molt when the colours can look even richer. It isn’t an overly flashy spider, but that contrast gives it a really distinctive appearance.
