🔥 National Heat Awareness Day is an effort to alert workers, employers, and the public at large about the (preventable) health dangers related to heat, in order to reduce the overall rate of illnesses and deaths caused by it.

This day was specially founded as a reminder that many outdoor workers or laborers are at risk of serious heat-induced conditions like heat exhaustion, dehydration, heatstroke, and even death.

May is recognized as Lyme Disease Awareness Month in Canada, the United States, and internationally, focusing on education, prevention, and advocacy regarding tick-borne illnesses.

It serves as a reminder to take precautions as warmer weather increases the activity of blacklegged ticks.

Ticks that transmit Lyme disease can be found everywhere you go outdoors—be it the yard, the soccer field, running around the playground, or simply walking the dog. In fact, we are observing more, and more types of, disease-carrying ticks out and about this year. This trend could lead to more cases of Lyme and tick-borne illness if we are not prepared and AWARE. Most people with Lyme disease never felt the tick bite, and many do not see a rash. While you may not feel the bite, you may feel the symptoms.
