The Woodlands' Drama Department is proud to announce that Hope, our Sears Festival Regionals entry, had been performed on Friday last week and received awards this week!

An Award of Merit goes to The Ensemble for Performance and an Award of Excellence goes to Julie Phan for Writing! Congrats to I-John Sison, Julie Phan, Chas Mendoza, Monika Nikitovic, Simran Matharu, and the rest of the team of Hope who have helped get this play going along for the last several months. You have all done a spectacular job!

Unfortunately due to bad weather, tonight's showing for Hope at Sears Regional Festival will be rescheduled for this Friday at 7 at John Fraser SS. Hope to see you there!

Hello, one and all members of the general public!

Coming up this week is our annual participation at the Sears Regional Festival, a competition against other local schools wherein several members of the drama department write, act, and/or direct for their very own productions. This year, we are proud to present two plays, Ridiculosis by Proxy and Hope.

Hope, written by our very own student Julie Phan, will be featured Tuesday, March 1st at 7 pm at John Fraser Secondary School.

Ridiculosis by Proxy, a production acted out entirely by the senior drama class, will be featured Thursday, March 3rd at 7 pm at John Fraser Secondary School

Tickets can be bought in the Woodlands cafeteria for $5, which includes viewings for all nights of the show, or at the door for $8.

We hope to see you all there supporting our students and enjoying a night out with theatre!

The cast lists are up for this year's productions at drama shorts! We'll keep you posted as we produce them!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CAST/CREW OF "MAPLEMAN: CANUCK CRUSADER" FOR MAKING IT TO THE REGIONAL LEVEL OF THE SEARS ONTARIO DRAMA FESTIVAL! Special shout out to the writer, Nam Nguyen!

We couldn't be more proud of everybody who is a part of the show!!

The Regional Showcase is on Saturday, April 18th at 7pm, and will be happening at Meadowvale Theatre (6315 Montevideo Road).

Support the cast/crew-- the Drama Club will be selling tickets sometime after the March Break!

Thank you to everybody who came out to the Sears Drama Festival on Friday night!! Congratulations to the cast and crew of Mapleman: Canuck Crusader, you put on such a fantastic show that had the audience in tears (because you made them laugh so hard)!! Totally deserves a Rammy- a five star show!!

Have you bought your ticket to the Sears Ontario Drama Festival yet?

Buy your ticket for $8 in Studio A at lunch anytime this week. These short one-act plays are being performed until March 6th at Clarkson S.S. @ 7pm. There are different sets of plays each day, and one $8 ticket acts as a pass for the whole week!!

That's right, you could see all the shows if you wanted to, and for only $8! Come out to support to the art of theatre!

The Woodlands Drama Council will be mounting Mapleman, a Canadian-themed musical (written by Nam Nguyen, and directed by Kevin Yue and Nikhil Gupta) this Friday February 27th at 7pm!
