From piano to voice, digital music production, and everything in between, Do Re Mi has been teaching music for over 20 years! Music lessons and classes are about more than just learning an instrument. They should include rhythm, movement, theory, and history too! Do Re Mi offers unique music programs for all ages that are age appropriate and designed to foster all aspects of music creation and enjoyment. For 20 years we have offered in-person programs at our facilities in Mississauga, Ontario. As of September 2020, all of our programs will also be offered online! Do Re Mi was founded by Chris Marti, an expert in Early Childhood Education and Music Education who developed each program curriculum based on years of teaching experience. In 2020, Chris was the recipient of the Royal Conservatory Teach of Distinction Award, recognizing her as a leader in the field of music education based on her creativity, dedication, innovation, and passion. The core curriculum at Do Re Mi includes both group classes and private lessons. Some of the most popular classes are:
• Parents & Tots: A unique group program designed for children ages 0 – 4. It introduces children to music at an early age, encouraging an early love for music and a fun activity for parents to do with their children.
• Keyboard/Piano 1: Starting at ages 5 – 7, this is the core music theory curriculum at Do Re Mi. This group class teaches students how to make and understand music through theory, movement, and active listening rather than merely focusing on learning to play an instrument.
• Guitar Classes: For ages 9 and up, offering a small group learning environment based on the same well-rounded approached and application to guitar.
• Vocal lessons: Individual instruction in a variety of genres from Pop to Opera, including a robust education about stage presence and performance confidence.
