What happened aboard Flydubai Flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv today?

The flight was forced to make an emergency diversion to Saudi Arabia following a serious incident in the cockpit. Reports say the aircraft experienced a rapid descent and transmitted emergency signals before eventually landing safely. Authorities are continuing to investigate exactly what happened. ✈️🚨

A diversion happens when a flight cannot continue to its planned destination and the pilots need to land at another airport.

This can happen because of 🌧️ bad weather, 🚧 airport or runway issues, ⛽ fuel considerations, 👨‍⚕️ medical emergencies, or other operational situations.

Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001.

We honor the lives lost, the families forever changed, the first responders who showed extraordinary courage, and all those who continue to carry the impact of that day.

As aviation professionals, we remember through our commitment to safety, preparation, vigilance, and continuous learning.

May we never forget the lives lost, and may their memory continue to remind us of the responsibility we carry every time we step into the cockpit.
