It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of John Harada's passing this past weekend. John was a lifelong proud ESS Alumni and Mississauga community member who played a large role in organizing the 2017 reunion and followup Alumni Panel for students.
He will be missed by all. RIP.
It is with a heavy heart that I share this news. Our afternoon drive announcer for our first three and a half years, Johnny Harada past away suddenly last night. Johnny H, as we referred to him as, was a consummate professional and no doubt helped this small market station get off the ground. He was with us from day 1 to about 8 months ago and brought our sound up a notch (or 5) with his wit, overall general knowledge of music and he was a prep master! A true gentleman on the air and in the halls. I'm going to miss ya Johnny.

One of the best moments evuh yesterday at the Erindale Reunion/ESS50 standing beside a living legend... 96 year old Hazel McCallion, the 2nd longest-serving mayor in the world (until 2014) behind Hilmar Moore of Richmond, Texas, who was in office for 63 years. Hurricane Hazel got a big standing O when introduced at the assembly.
