Take Your Medications Safely!

Taking your medications as directed is an important part of staying healthy. Whether it's a prescription, an over-the-counter medicine, or a vitamin supplement, using it correctly helps your treatment work as it should and reduces the risk of unwanted side effects.

Why it's important to take medications as directed:

- Helps your medication work properly: Taking the right dose at the right time allows your medication to be most effective.
- Reduces the risk of side effects: Skipping doses or taking too much medication can increase the chance of unwanted reactions or make your condition worse.
- Prevents harmful interactions: Some medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements can affect each other. Reviewing everything you take with your doctor or pharmacist helps keep you safe.
- Supports better long-term health: Following your treatment plan can help manage chronic conditions, reduce the risk of complications, and lower the chance of needing hospital care.

Simple tips to stay on track:

- Take your medications at the same time each day.
- Use a pill organizer or set reminders if needed.
- Keep an up-to-date list of all your medications and supplements.
- Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before starting any new medication, vitamin, or herbal product.
- If you have questions or notice side effects, don't stop taking your medication without speaking to a healthcare professional first.

Taking your medications safely is one of the simplest ways to protect your health and maintain your independence.
