Help fund a future facility dedicated to improve the quality of life for children, adolescents and adults with Autism & other neurological disorders.
To come together and raise money for a future facility in order to fill a service gap in the city of Mississauga dedicated to improve the quality of life for children, adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders, developmental delays, learning disabilities and other neurological disorders. Everyone has individual needs and people differ from one another, therefore their interventions sho
uld not be the same. By incorporating their strengths, understanding their learning styles and objectives, a multidisciplinary team of experts will provide individualized programs in order to better serve each student. Motivation is the key to success, it is important that the individual is completely present and engaged when learning a new skill or target. At The Way I learn the student will be taught targets and skills by following their own personal style and pace. The skills and targets will be generalized across different settings, instructors and environments to ensure the individual is confident in the skills learned and are retained over time. Natural Environment Teaching will play a strong role and will be incorporated in the social and life skills groups that will be offered. With the use of Evidence Based Interventions such as IBI (Intensive Behaviour Intervention) based on the principles of ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis), The Way I Learn will be dedicated to helping individuals reach their full potential.
