We came together as a campus community to kick off Pride with powerful speeches from members of our q***r community, sharing reflections on identity, solidarity, and the importance of creating safer, more inclusive spaces on campus 🏳️‍🌈

Collectively, we had our Progress Pride Flag drop in front of the Student Centre, a visible reminder of ongoing advocacy, resilience, and the diversity of our 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

We hope you enjoyed our free burger lunch and refreshments, after the ceremony! 🍔✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us today for our Indigenous History Month Opening Ceremony at The Blind Duck Patio! 🌿

We were honoured to begin this month of reflection, learning, and celebration alongside members of our campus community. A special thank you to SpiritWind for their incredible performances, which brought energy, culture, and storytelling to our event, and to M.J., an inspiring member of our Indigenous community here at UTM, for sharing their words, experiences, and perspective with attendees.

🍔 We also hope everyone enjoyed the refreshments, featuring Indigenous food and businesses, including bison burgers, Mohawk sodas, and cookies from an Indigenous-owned bakery!

Indigenous History Month is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the histories, cultures, contributions, and resilience of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. We look forward to continuing these conversations and celebrations throughout the month.
