Are you an independent older adult in Mississauga looking to connect with others through a creative activity? Apply by August 20th to join the waitlist for a special drawing workshop to create a bold drawing and spotlight the importance of pollinators in nature.

VAM invites artists to explore the concept of our relationship to water. Water has carried generations across the world. History is shaped through travel across seas, rivers, and lakes. This exhibition is seeking perspectives on movement, migration, aquatic environments, and human relationships to water.

Submission Deadline: September 13, 11:59pm
Exhibition Dates: October 13-25, 2026

Submission Fee: $45 for non-members to submit up to 3 artworks. Receive a year-long VAM Membership with your submission! (Fees are waived for active VAM members).

Take a look at what our Adventures in Art students created throughout the July session! Each week, older adults (60+) came together to try a new art project and enjoyed the creative process.

You now have until August 9 at 11:59 PM to enter the 2026 Take Back the Night Poster Contest. Create an original poster for a movement that brings communities together to stand against gender-based violence, support survivors, and promote safety, dignity, and equality for all.

Categories: Ages 11–17, 18–30, and 31+
Prizes: One winner per category receives 2 × $100 gift cards (from Embrave and Visual Arts Mississauga).
