🚨 Canada Extends Ebola-Related Immigration & Travel Measures 🇨🇦

The Government of Canada has extended its temporary Ebola-related immigration and border measures until November 27, 2026.

The measures currently affect certain travellers and immigration applicants connected to:

🇨🇩 Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)
🇺🇬 Uganda
🇸🇸 South Sudan

Under the measures, certain immigration applications may continue to be processed but cannot be finalized while the restrictions remain in effect.

Foreign nationals who have recently been in the affected countries may also face entry restrictions or quarantine requirements, depending on their travel history and circumstances.

Some exemptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis, including in certain humanitarian or compassionate situations.

🇨🇦 Canada Invests in Francophone Immigration Outside Quebec! 🇫🇷

Canada is taking another step to attract and support French-speaking and bilingual immigrants across the country.

IRCC has announced approximately $1.2 million in funding for three new projects aimed at strengthening Francophone immigration and Francophone minority communities outside Quebec.

📍 The initiatives will focus on:
• Newfoundland and Labrador – attracting and retaining Francophone newcomers
• Saskatchewan – connecting French-speaking workers with employers in key sectors
• Northern Ontario – promoting the region as a destination for Francophone immigrants

The Saskatchewan initiative will target sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, mining, energy, technology and hospitality.

📢 While this announcement does not create a new PR program, it reflects Canada’s continued focus on increasing Francophone immigration outside Quebec and creating more opportunities for French-speaking newcomers.

The Northwest Territories Nominee Program has announced the final 2026 EOI selection round under the Employer Driven Stream.

The final EOI selection round is scheduled for September 25, 2026, with approximately 100 profiles expected to be selected.

The profile submission deadline is September 22, 2026, at 11:59 PM MT.

Profiles are ranked based on factors including skills and experience, connections to the Northwest Territories, and the likelihood of settling in the territory.

Applicants must have a valid, full time, permanent job offer from an NWT employer, or plan to open, buy, or invest in a business in the Northwest Territories.
