✨ Meet Cartoon Helen! ✨

What happens when you take 25+ years of career counselling, academic advising, leadership, student success, and a passion for helping others—and turn it into a collection of illustrations?

You get a visual storybook of my journey.

Each vignette captures a different part of who I am and the work I love:
💙 The Listener
💙 The Planner
💙 The Career Detective
💙 The Possibility Builder
💙 The Community Connector
💙 The Dream Champion

While the illustrations are playful, the message behind them is deeply meaningful.

Every day, I have the privilege of helping students and families navigate important decisions, discover opportunities, and move forward with confidence.

One of my favorite pages is "Fuelled by Hope" because that is what truly inspires me—hope for students, hope for families, hope for possibilities, and hope for brighter futures.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted me to be part of their journey.

What an extraordinary 100 Women Who Care Mississauga Giving Circle it was last night! The energy in the room was electric. Three outstanding presentations from Roots Community Services Inc. Luso Canadian Charitable Society and Music For Every Child

Each very deserving charities. Congratulations to Luso Canadian Charitable Societys for the charity with most votes! The night was extra special with the contribution of Mayor Carolyn Parish with a stellar presentation and generous contribution of $2500 to each of the other 2 charities that were not awarded the $16,000 total for the night. Everyone is a winner by sharing their movies stories that had many of us with teary eyes.

A massive congratulations to Christine Hull Online, Social Media Trainer President of 100 Women Who Care Mississauga and her fantastic Steering Team that made everything come together.

I am still buzzing with excitement that Luso Canadian Charitable Society that was awarded on June 10th, official Portugal Day! 🇵🇹as a proud Luso Canadian myself.

I am overjoyed to be a proud Sponsor & Member of since the beginning for their 5th year Anniversary! Hurray for over 160 women who are actively making a difference to charities in Mississauga!

If anyone has kids interested in the medical field, come check out NPEMA at their open house! They are a division of Scouts Canada where youth train in first aid and have the opportunity to shadow paramedics, volunteer at community events and so much more.

This is primarily for kids 14+.
Highly recommend as it is great experience, tons of fun and looks great on a resume.

As I left from the high school where I volunteered as a Career Coach with Ontario Career Lab, organized by Halton Industry Education Council, I felt inspired to produce a video showcasing my own aspirations and dreams. Career exploration is a holistic process that extends beyond high school, university, or one's professional career, it is also about incorporating personal values, interests, personal growth, and service. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to education, teaching, and student services, which brings me a sense of personal fulfillment. My understanding of student success involves supporting students at their individual stages and reminding them of their goals, abilities, and ideals. While some students may require extra guidance, they always have the opportunity to work hard towards achieving their objectives. I appreciate the trust placed in me to assist students in reaching their full potential.

This week, I connected with Clarkson Secondary School students as a Career Coach through the Ontario Career Lab, organized by HIEC. The experience left me feeling energized and optimistic about the future.
The students were engaged, inquisitive, and respectful, demonstrating a keen interest in exploring career pathways, post-secondary options, and available opportunities. Their thoughtful questions and openness to new possibilities enabled meaningful conversations.
As a Career Coach, it is highly rewarding to help students recognize that multiple paths can lead to success and that the future holds numerous possibilities. I appreciate the warm welcome and engaging discussions from the students and staff at Clarkson Secondary School.
