This past Saturday, I was privileged to speak at the Second Annual Black Authors In Conversation event. A platform where local authors shared the stories behind our books in connection to black history month.
A few tears were shed, as I reflected on my why and the process it took to get to where I’m at now.
I want to thank the host and Joan John for this opportunity. Looking forward to next year’s event.

About two years ago I was blessed to work with two young men in our community “ and ” to play the characters in my first-ever book “Five Nuggets” and turn it into an audiobook. Throughout the years we have done different initiatives to give back to people within our community ⬇️⬇️⬇️
2020 we raised $3,000 to offer free tutoring to a Nonprofit organization called to assist them with their homework club by providing 4 tutors proficient in Math, English, Science and French.
2022 we gave away the first of many Back-To-School Scholarships to a young lady going to school to become a Nurse 🎓.
The initiative for this specific project is to sow a seed of $1,000 into both "DJs and Xavier’s” dreams and aspirations. Dj would like to become a firefighter impacting and saving lives and Xavier would like to follow in his uncle’s footsteps and become a professional football player.
