In July we saw our caterpillars transform to butterflies , insects of all shapes and sizes, snakes , hummingbirds , birthdays and ice cream and popsicles! Let’s not forget waterplay and holidays too. Earthquake kit got a good cleaning.

We get far more than an hour outside here , nature is everywhere.

Insects, songs, sunshine and Canada made them smile this month.

The lullaby I have hummed to my little ones for 38 years.

Birthdays, Ice cream and popsicles and summer isn’t even here yet.☀️

April showers (very little) bring May flowers.

One thing I’ve always found interesting about being a home childcare provider is this…

We don’t just “have customers.”
We live life alongside them.

Think about it… what other job has you seeing your customers every single day, five days a week? Most businesses might see someone once in a while. Maybe weekly. Maybe monthly.

But us?
We’re there for the everyday.

We see the rushed mornings.
The tired pick-ups.
The hard days.
The proud moments.

We watch their children grow right in front of us, and somewhere along the way, it stops feeling like a transaction and starts feeling personal.

Because it is.

There’s nothing more personal than someone’s family… and they trust us to be a part of that.

And it goes beyond the kids.

Parents open up.
They share what they’re going through.
Their stress.
Their struggles.
Their wins.

And we carry that with us.

That’s the part people don’t always see.

They see the diapers, the meals, the toys on the floor…

But they don’t see the emotional side of this job.
The relationships.
The mental load.
The way we genuinely care about the families in our homes.

This job is so much more than childcare.

It’s connection.
It’s trust.
It’s being part of someone’s everyday life in a way most careers will never understand.
