Mission Montessori Academy

This month’s social studies program is: CUBA. 🇨🇺 Our friends have been exploring all their national symbols and traditional food. One of which is a Cuban dish made of plantains, beans and rice. The children enjoyed tasting this yummy treat from Cuba.

Our school age friends had a day full of music and melodies. Our own musical band created wonderful harmony with friends and their instruments. It was a musical feast in the room! 🎶🎼🎤🎵🎸🎹

This month, our friends from Mission Montessori are learning about the seas, oceans and sea creatures. The children happily made their own crafts and learned through sensory play. 🌊🦀🐠🐬

The children from the center enjoyed a water slime! Our school age friends helped make them and all other rooms enjoyed doing a sensory game and feeling the water slime. To top it all, the duckies were there to be counted and sang songs about the five little ducks! 🐥🌊💧

Our school age program students enjoyed this week by watching in a movie theater. Everyone enjoyed the movie: Toy Story 5. After the cinema, everyone was quizzed by asking some questions about the movie and everyone did very well understanding the movie. 🎬🎥🎞️

This week, the children had a fun theme: beach party or water play day! Everyone loved the idea of the water games and the water set-up in the center. Furthermore, everyone enjoyed it with a yummy ice popsicle to beat the heat! 😎☀️

Last week, our school age summer program friends visited the fire station. Everyone had an educational visit learning about fire safety. They learned about the history of the oldest fire truck they have in Mission. It was such an educational field trip for all.

To make it a fun and engaging experience, the children made a Ukrainian delicacy called: Pampushky. The children measured the ingredients, mixed the dough and formed into balls then baked it all together. These are garlic dough balls topped with herbs! It was delicious!

This month’s social studies program country focus is: UKRAINE 🇺🇦. The children have been learning a lot about their national symbols and their traditional outfits. The children made beautiful representations of their national flower: Sunflower and the beautiful colors of their flag.
