My journey naturally led me into a career when I can help empower women and guide them back into self care. Through my struggles I found myself finally doing the work I needed to create a life I wanted. I now am able to share what I have learned with my clients to help them do the same.

If you'd told me a year ago that I'd be back to working out, feeling stronger and able to deal with all if life's ups and downs with a smile on my face, I wouldn't have believed you.

I used to be the queen of starting over.

New plan. New app. New Monday. I'd go hard for a few weeks, lose steam, and end up right back where I started. I was frustrated with myself and no closer to understanding why nothing was working. Those of you who know me, know this about me. Even some amazing local trainers and gyms can attest.

What I didn't have was data. I was guessing. Chasing what I thought was happening in my body instead of actually knowing.

Then mercury poisoning. Then perimenopause. Two things that forced me to stop guessing and start paying attention to what was really going on underneath - my hormones, my nervous system, my stress, my recovery, the way my body was actually responding (or not responding) to what I was doing.

That's when things started shifting. Not because I found the perfect workout. Because I finally had the information to make the right choices for the body I'm in now.

There's another piece to my story too. Bigger gyms and large groups didn't work for me - too much noise, too much stimulation, too much anxiety. I was in healing mode and any crowd was too much. I needed somewhere quiet. Somewhere I could be seen. I found that in a small private gym with a trainer who pays attention, she knows me deeper than some friends do and it changed everything for me. (I now have an office there, which tells you how much I believe in the space.)

So I wanted to share this - it's for the women who are tired of guessing, who want their training and their data and their coaching in one place, who do better in a small, quiet, private setting where they feel seen at a different level. I want to share something I've been doing a lot of honest work on lately.
I have a pattern.

When the pressure of being a single mom and running my own business gets loud enough, I look for something that feels stable. A role. A structure. Something that says "you'll be okay, this is safe."

And every single time, I walk into that safe room and find the same thing.

Women who are overworked and undervalued. Environments where we're expected to carry a lot and ask for little. Spaces where capable people are quietly made smaller.

I kept thinking I was choosing safety. I was actually choosing familiar.

There's a difference.

Real safety for me has never come from a role or a room. It's come from trusting what I've built. Trusting what I know. Trusting that the thing I kept running away from -- building Willow House fully, on my own terms - was never actually the risk.

I left on March 24th.

Three weeks later my client work has expanded, BuildHER (a group for Women in Construction) has grown, and I have a dedicated space inside CT Fitness for the health and vitality work I love.

I'm not sharing this because I have it all figured out. I'm sharing it because I know some of you are sitting in a "safe" room right now that is slowly making you smaller.

It's not safe. It just feels familiar.

I don’t know if anyone else is feeling this… but something has shifted for me lately.

Not in a big dramatic way. Just enough that I notice it.

What used to work doesn’t feel the same anymore.

My energy is different.
My body feels different.
And there are moments where I catch myself thinking,
“why does this feel harder than it used to?”

And the more I’ve started paying attention to it—and actually talking about it—I’m realizing how many women are feeling this too.

Women who are capable, who normally figure things out, who take care of themselves…

and yet something just feels off.

I don’t think it’s that we’re doing anything wrong.

I think we’re just in a different stage—and no one really prepares you for what that actually feels like.

I’m going to start talking about this more openly—both personally and in my work.

Have you ever stopped to think about the power you have to create your own reality? It's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day routine and feel like we're at the mercy of our circumstances. But the truth is, we have more control over our lives than we realize.

When we're intentional, we make conscious choices about how we spend our time, who we spend it with, and what we focus our energy on. This allows us to create the reality we desire, rather than simply reacting to the world around us.

Being intentional means setting goals and taking action towards achieving them. It means taking responsibility for our own happiness and fulfillment, rather than relying on external factors to provide them for us. It means being mindful of our thoughts and emotions, and intentionally choosing to focus on the positive.

Of course, life is unpredictable and we can't control everything that happens to us. But by being intentional, we can control our response to those events. We can choose to see challenges as opportunities for growth, rather than setbacks. We can choose to focus on the things we're grateful for, rather than dwelling on what we lack.

The power of intention is real, and it's available to all of us. We can create the reality we desire and live a life of purpose and fulfillment. So take a moment to reflect on your goals and values, and make a conscious choice to live a life that aligns with them. The power is in your hands.
