Millet School Buddy Bench

One day my family came across a Ted Talks video (the link is posted below), that had a great message; "Let's create friendships and eliminate loneliness". At the end of the video my girls (Josephine age 7, Opelia age 5) asked me if we could make a Buddy Bench for their school. They thought this was a great idea that could help many kids. We of course jumped on board with the project, and the planning began! After seeking and acquiring permission from the school, we have found volunteers to build the bench and are just needing the funds for the materials. Our goal was to raise $200 for the wood & paint and we did that in only 5 days!! The bench will be installed and presented to the combined schools in September to start the year off with this great message. *The exact location of the bench on school grounds is still to be determined. Photos of the Buddy Bench building process will be posted on this page over the next few months.
