There is something wrong when people decide a book about a group of young girls who enjoy coding needs to be banned. Oppression comes in many forms. This book series is still available here in Canada and is such a fun read!

Confirmed the girls python programs ages 8-13 will run Fridays 6:30 to 7:30. The boys and teens programs did not have enough registrations to cover the costs of running. Look out in December for courses in the New year for these ages (Im thinking Friday nights are tricky for people) Also TBD will be a build your own raspberry pi computer (they are on backorder everywhere!) and ladies night intro to coding!

Hey Everyone!
I am starting an after school coding club for girls (possibly boys I need a few more registrations) It will run friday evenings 6-7pm for girls ages 8-13 and 7-8pm for boys the same age. (Will be at the community center in Cavan, a laptop is required) They will be learning how to build video games using pygames. I love coding books, but maybe you don’t love learning from books and all books are NOT created equal (I’ve had some with some pretty messy code) and learning to code from books doesn’t just mean copying the solutions but understanding how to get there. Don’t know where to start or don’t like books? Pick a project on YouTube! Want to get serious fast try a udemy bootcamp! (You can often get these on sale for under $20) either way just getting your feet wet is a great way to start.
