advising the incident causing a large police presence in Mildmay has concluded. Update to follow. ^mt

Parents, please be aware.

CLEARED (6:30 p.m.): The active police investigation in Mildmay has concluded. Today at approximately 2:54 p.m., the responded to a report of a barricaded person at a residence along Peter Street.

Officers contained the area with the assistance of the West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), and OPP Canine. Crisis Negotiators and Bruce County Paramedic Services were also on scene to assist.

At approximately 5:20 p.m., one individual was taken into custody. The incident has resolved and resources are clearing. There was no threat to public safety.

South Bruce OPP advising the public of an active police investigation in the area of Peter St. and Absalom St. W in the Mildmay community. Expect a higher than normal police presence and avoid the area until further notice. We believe there is no threat to public safety. Updates to follow. ^pia
