Exploring Simcoe County - one adventure at a time!

Our SCDSB International Students headed to Treetop Trekking Barrie for a day of outdoor adventure!

Students made their way through the treetop courses, testing their balance and confidence on bridges, ropes, nets and ziplines, while encouraging and connecting with fellow international students along the way.

Field trips like this are a great way for our students to get outside, discover their new community and experience some of what makes Simcoe County such a special place to live and learn.

More exploring. More connections. More memories.

SCDSB International Student Orientation - Day 3!

What better way to wrap up orientation than with a day of adventure at Hardwood Ski and Bike!

Our international students spent the day outdoors, getting active, trying new things, and building connections with their fellow students. From archery and scavenger hunts to human foosball, the climbing wall, frisbee golf, and more, there was no shortage of fun and friendly competition!

After visiting their schools and exploring the local community earlier this week, today was the perfect way to bring everyone together before they begin their school journeys across Simcoe County.

We’re so excited to welcome this year’s international students and can’t wait to see all the friendships, experiences, and memories they create throughout the year.

Welcome to Simcoe County! We’re glad you’re here!

International Student Orientation - Day 2 continues!

The second stop on today’s adventure took our international students to Wye Marsh, where they had the opportunity to experience some of the incredible nature found right here in Simcoe County.

Students learned about and saw some amazing birds of prey, including members of the falcon, hawk, and owl families.

It was a wonderful opportunity to step outside the classroom, connect with nature, and continue getting to know their new community - all while making memories with fellow international students.

Day 2 is in the books, and there’s still one more excursion to go!

We’re excited to welcome this year’s international students and look forward to seeing what tomorrow brings!
