I'm delighted to be returning to to mentor camp G.N.O.M.E into action this summer! This year, I'll be teaming up with the fabulous Chelsea Holley so we can co-inspire even more magic in this immersive "Get Nature On Me Everywhere" 3-day camp July 27-29.

There are only 4 SPOTS LEFT in this Forest-based adventure surrounding the Quadra Community Centre for wild childs aged 5-9 years old.

There will be lots of opportunities to get messy, learn about local flowers and fauna, make nature art, and grow in friendships.

Robin guided our very mysterious quest today! Amongst 15 special rocks found in "Hemlock Graveyard" translated clues of eggshell and birdsong to piece together a spell to reveal the Forest fairies. This sort of magic can only be initiated, but mostly enchanted by and the beautiful beeings who work together to sense with a deeper perspective.

Even after two decades, this kind of wild work gives me goosebumps still. What a privledge it is to bee a part of a mentorship that acknowledges connection to everything alive, always translating.

wild childs accepted 's quest and tackled the compost mess yesterday, where hungry Raven got into last weekend. Thanks to their teamwork, strategy and compassion, we created a spirit-plate nest for them to feast more easefully, and outside our precious farm tarpage. Best to work with the very intelligent animal, and not against them! They lingered overhead as we worked and sang them closer.

Exploring leadership with these incredible Beeings is truly an honour, and reminds me of why spaciousness for this alternative, choice-enriched learning connects with so much more than ourselves!

Here's to fostering tiny village building and growth through playful, Nature-based connection. This one-of-a-kind mentorship with wild child RootZ fosters curiosity, responsibility and learning from an off-grid skoolie bus basecamp into living gardens, family-farm, neighbouring Forest and trails. Quests and questions seed how we approach bush and community-crafting. Flora and Fauna mentor how we listen and learn how to grow from a giving landscape where the feelings and needs of all of our relations can be heard. Together we explore Nature’s mysteries into a wild open classroom of possibility; every program day is unique and child-influenced. The learning finds home, as families can celebrate their child’s “story of the day” by visiting the online photo album.

From Joy the Magic Botanical Skoolie Bus camp, children learn together through stories and song, bird language and bushcraft, and are often inspired by RootZ’s passionate practice with the Plant and Fungi kingdoms. They receive guidance informed by coyote mentorship, community living, nonviolent communication and Indigenous wisdom.

Here's example of wild and willing kinesthetic learning outside and inside !

First we ask and forage for ( ) then they proudly prepare the caps for cooking with clove.
These inky mushrooms need thyme to deliquesce (caps "sporing" into liquid "gunk") so I pre-prepared a handful of them by leaving them covered overnight.
