π₯ EARLY BIRD BONUS: SAVE THE TAX! π₯
For years we've absorbed the GST into our class fees. Unfortunately, rising costs have made it necessary for us to finally add GST to our registration fees this year. Rather than increasing fees even further, we've chosen to keep our base prices as affordable as possible and simply apply the tax separately.
BUT...
If you register during our Early Bird period, we'll continue to cover the GST for you!
This will be your last opportunity to save the tax on your karate fees while helping us continue to provide the high-quality instruction and family-friendly atmosphere that Karate-Do Academy has been known for since 1992.
Spots are limited in several classes, so don't wait too long to secure yours!

This week also brought another very special promotion in the dojo. Congratulations to Sensei Braden on earning his Nidan, or second degree black belt, in Shotokan karate.
A Nidan promotion represents far more than simply being able to perform the techniques, drills, and curriculum yourself. It is a rank that reflects the ability to teach karate, guide others through their journey, and help develop students from their very first white belt all the way toward black belt.
Over the past several months, Braden has truly demonstrated those qualities through his leadership, initiative, and dedication to our students. While Sensei Ally was on mat leave, he stepped up to lead many of our Tiny Tigers and Little Ninjas classes, helping create a positive, encouraging, and structured environment for some of our youngest karate students. He has also become an essential part of our Family Beginner program, helping newer students build confidence and develop a strong foundation in karate.
Many years ago, Braden wrote that he wanted to become a black belt because he wanted to help others. Watching that goal grow into reality has been incredibly rewarding and something we are very proud of.
Congratulations, Sensei Braden, on this well earned achievement. Your dedication to both your own growth and the success of your students truly embodies the spirit of traditional karate. π₯

On Saturday two of our instructors, Sensei Loriann and Sensei Rhonda received the rank of Sandan - a third degree black belt.
A third-degree black belt in Shotokan karate is about far more than technical skill. It represents years of dedication, consistency, humility, and growth both as a martial artist and as a person.
In traditional karate, progression through the black belt ranks isnβt just about what you can do yourself anymore. As students advance, there becomes a greater expectation that they are helping others grow too. A strong martial artist develops their own technique, but a true senior student and instructor learns how to guide, mentor, encourage, and pass knowledge on to the next generation.
That is one of the reasons achieving Third Dan is such a meaningful milestone. It reflects not only continued personal development, but also leadership within the dojo. It shows an understanding that karate is something bigger than yourself. It is a lifelong practice built on discipline, respect, perseverance, and community.
We are incredibly proud of our instructors for earning this promotion through years of hard work, training, teaching, and dedication to both their own journey and the growth of their students. Their commitment to continually improving themselves while helping others succeed is exactly what traditional karate is all about.
Congratulations on this well-earned achievement and thank you for the positive impact you continue to have within Karate-Do Academy.
