At Little Owl we cherish childhood and believe that quality early experiences are the foundation on which success is built. We aim to create an innovative and educationally enriched child care program. We are a Reggio-inspired centre which means our curriculum is project and process based. We formulate our lessons and arrange our play space by following a three step approach

1. Observe and record children at play
2. Review observations and identify what the children are naturally interested in.
3. Carefully staging the play environment with learning rich materials and creating lessons that provoke a deeper exploration of a child’s natural curiosities.

Our teacher's record and document children's learning for parent's to view using StoryPark, an online learning story app. See, learn and experience more of your child's day. Do you wonder what your child is doing when you're not there? Storypark allows teachers to send you updates, photos and videos while they work with your child.

🌟☀️ Feature Friday: Miss Maddy ☀️🌟

Miss Maddy brings such a calm, kind, and positive presence to Little Owl. Whether she is spending her day with our littlest learners in the Bouncing Bunnies studio or stepping into another classroom to lend a hand, she has a way of making children feel comfortable, cared for, and happy to see her.

One of the things that stands out most about Miss Maddy is how easily she connects with the children. She is gentle, nurturing, playful, and attentive to what each child needs in the moment. Her bright smile and warm personality make her someone the children naturally gravitate toward often greeting her with hugs and excitement wherever she goes!

Maddy is always willing to support her team wherever she is needed. From helping with transitions and classroom routines to bringing thoughtful ideas into the Bouncing Bunnies studio, she is dependable, adaptable, and always looking for ways to make the day run a little smoother for both the children and her fellow educators.

We are so grateful to have Miss Maddy as part of the Little Owl team. Thank you, Maddy, for the kindness, care, flexibility, and positivity you bring to the Centre each day. 💛

Little Owl Learning Centre is hiring a Childcare Director to join our leadership team.

We’re looking for someone who is experienced, highly reliable, organized and confident leading a busy childcare environment — while always keeping the needs of our children, families and educators at the heart of their decisions.

This is a 19-month contract position and an exciting opportunity for someone who loves early childhood education and is ready to step into a meaningful leadership role.

✨ Feature Friday: Mr. Ethan ✨

This week’s Feature Friday is all about the one and only Mr. Ethan!

Ethan has been part of the Little Owl family for the past two years, and we’ve loved every minute of having him on our team. He has a true gift for working with children and brings such a fun, positive, and upbeat energy to every classroom he’s in. Whether he’s joining in imaginative play, making children laugh, or encouraging children to try something new, his enthusiasm is contagious.

During his first year with us, Ethan taught alongside Miss Jen in our KinderLearn program, and the two of them made such a dynamic team. Together, they created a classroom filled with laughter, curiosity, and meaningful learning experiences. It’s no surprise that so many of our students absolutely adore him.

This past year, Ethan began pursuing his Education degree at Medicine Hat College while continuing to work with Little Owl whenever his schedule allowed. We are so proud to watch him take this next step toward becoming a teacher, and we couldn’t have been more excited to welcome him back this summer. We think the children may have been even more excited, they were absolutely stoked to see him back!

As you’ll see from the testimonials shared by his students and their families, Ethan has made a lasting impact on so many little lives. The relationships he builds with children are genuine, and it’s clear just how much they love having him as part of their days.

We’d also like to extend a huge congratulations to Ethan on his recent engagement to our very own Miss Maddie! We are so incredibly happy for you both and so excited to see you begin this new chapter together.

Ethan, thank you for the kindness, patience, laughter, and heart you bring to Little Owl. We have no doubt you’re going to make an incredible teacher, and we can’t wait to watch all the amazing things your future holds.
