Learning the language of dogs is more than a skill - it's a safety tool. Understanding how dogs communicate can help prevent stressful or unsafe encounters.🐾

MHC Extended Learning partnered with several provincial parks within the region, including Dinosaur Provincial Park, Kinbrook Island, and Tillebrook, to deliver customized Smart Strategies for Safe Dog Encounters training.

This workshop provides a practical understanding of how dogs perceive their environment. Participants learned how dogs communicate through body language, movement, and posture, enabling them to quickly assess risk and recognize early signs of stress or escalation.

The workshop was led by MHC instructor Marissa Jordan; she shares that this knowledge is beneficial for anyone regardless of occupation, as encounters with dogs can be unpredictable and having the necessary knowledge and skills can protect both the individual and animal.

If your team may cross paths with dogs at work, equip them to respond safely. Connect with us to bring this training to your team: https://tinyurl.com/yn5dbeez
