A New Chapter for Local News in Medicine Hat

Today marks the end of an era as CHAT-TV, a beloved institution in our community for 68 years, signs off for the last time. We at the Medicine Hat Owl want to take a moment to honor their legacy—especially since our own newsroom sits just steps away from where CHAT-TV first began. (Check out this throwback photo of their original studio!)

While we’re saddened to see another local news voice fade, we want to reassure you: Owl News isn’t going anywhere. For 10 years, we’ve been committed to hyper-local storytelling, and we’ll keep delivering the news, events, and investigative work that matter to you—in writing, video, and broadcast formats.

The Medicine Hat Owl

Hello,

Calgary artist, Doug Swinton, has a great online course coming up on June 1st entitled "Editing Paintings with Sketchbook". This class is a Zoom workshop and only costs $25. The Sketchbook App is downloadable, and is an excellent tool for artists.

Doug has taught for us in the past, and is a terrific instructor. This would be great for all levels of artists, beginner to advanced. Please see the link below, and check out the rest of Doug's website and FB page as he posts many great educational tips and upcoming opportunities.
