In case you didn’t see tonight’s show, Canada’s Got Talent, Glen Strong’s daughter, Rebecca Strong won!!!!! One million dollars! She is an amazing singer and Glen is one proud Dad!! To those that watched tonight, I bet your heart was beating hard, your hands were shaking and you shed a few tears when Rebecca’s name was announced!!! And seeing Glen and Joan so proud of their daughter made me very emotional!!

The Maryfield Class of 1973 enjoyed a wonderful reunion on Saturday, July 29. Although not all of the 26 Graduates were able to attend, those that did, enjoyed the day visiting and renewing past friendships. Included in our group were students that didn’t graduate with us but were classmates along the way!! It was great to catch up with them as well. We also had the opportunity to visit with past teachers Laura Frazer, Bill Pitt and Bob and Betsy Darroch. Thank you to all those that came out to our Reunion and helped make the day such a success.
Our last reunion was 35 years ago. Following this summer’s event many of us decided that we would not wait that long for our next chance to get together. As a result in 5 years we plan to meet again. So class, mark the summer of 2028 on your calendar!!!

Mr. Bob Darroch with all his students!! This man taught us all about LCD (lowest common denominators), prime numbers, fractions, having your rough work on the right side of the page and Science to boot!! We are so glad that he and Betsy could join us for a visit.

The Reunion is over! Thank you to all those that attended. We had a great time visiting and sharing memories from our school days. (And those who of you who were unable to attend, your names and stories about you were brought up in conversation throughout the day.) All those who took pictures, please share them. Here we are visiting with Mrs. Laura Frazer at Sunrise Villa. In Junior High Mrs. Frazer was our English and Physical Education icon. And of course most of us will never forget the day in Grade 4 when she passed out and scared the sh*t out of all of us!!!
It was great to see you Mrs Frazer!! We had a wonderful visit. As a teacher you expected a high standard and now as adults, we truly appreciate that you set the bar high. Thank you Mrs. Frazer!!!
