ECA stands for Early Childhood Assistant, which is the entry-level profession in Canada's early childhood education industry.
The Canadian government has invested over 10 billion CAD in the early childhood education industry in Ontario, the number of job openings is enormous.
CanNorth College offers internship opportunities at eight well-known local kindergartens or daycares. Outstanding students may be directly employed.

Differences between HO and HM program?

Many students often ask such questions as 'What are the differences between HO and HM program? Which major is more suitable for me?

HO refers to Hospitality Operations Diploma Program, HM refers to Hospitality Management Diploma Program.

Course Differences:

1. Content:

HO requires students to deeply understand Hospitality Operations knowledge, including front desk services, customer service, food and beverage services, cleaning services, property management systems, and catering service systems.

In contrast, HM aims to equip students with methods to manage employees in a hotel environment, along with learning skills in hotel accounting and marketing.

2. Duration:

HM is an 82-week program, while the HO is shorter at 55 weeks.

3. Internship:

HM includes a paid internship of 6 months, while HO has a paid internship of 3 months.

Advantages that both majors share:

1. Flexible Class Schedule:

Courses are offered online, with classes on weekends, allowing students to arrange their time freely.

2. Broad Employment Opportunities:

Both majors offer vast development space and employment opportunities in areas such as hotels, restaurants, bars, tourist attractions, resorts, cruise companies, etc. Potential future positions include hotel front desk manager, restaurant shift supervisor, housekeeping manager, etc.

3. Emphasis on Professionalism:

Both majors focus on cultivating the knowledge and skills needed for various professional qualities, such as communication with customers, cooperation with colleagues, and team management. This will help students achieve more success in the workplace.
