Artful Expression

The Explorers were given chalk and construction paper to use as a medium to jcreate works of art. At the present time a child was very interested with Leonardo De Vinci at the moment and created a portrayal of the “Mona Lisa” using different color charts, blending them and mixing them in his version of the Mona Lisa. Two other children created monuments and images that they see through the world around them. The children were very animated as they communicate with each other what they were doing, how they were doing it, and just discussing their feelings and their imagery throughout the whole process.

HDLD: belonging and wellness as well as expression have all been demonstrated and part of this learning experience with the children as they interacted with their peers at their own pace in collaboration, enthusiasm, and joy in their own unique ways.

Collaborative Construction with Interlox Blocks

The children in the SA1 group participated in a building activity using Interlox blocks. Working together, they constructed a truck and car shop by following the picture pamphlet found inside the container.

Through this open-ended construction experience, the children engaged in hands-on exploration, teamwork, and collaborative problem-solving. They took turns with their peers, carefully assembling and connecting the blocks to design various trucks and cars. Throughout the activity, the children demonstrated curiosity and creativity. They shared ideas, communicated with one another, and supported each other as they worked toward a common goal.

HDLH – Belonging

As children engage in different forms of social play, they learn to get along with others, collaborate, and communicate with peers and adults, as well as care for others within our learning environment.

The Minions at BF, they play clay through making desserts which is a creative sensory activity where children use modeling clay to shape pretend foods like cupcakes, cookies, cakes, donuts, or ice cream. As they roll, press, pinch, flatten, and decorate the clay, they develop fine motor skills, hand strength, coordination, and creativity. Dessert-themed clay play also encourages imagination, storytelling, counting, color recognition, and social interaction when children work together or “serve” their creations in pretend play.

Children collaborate, share tools, and engage in pretend café or desserts shop play, building relationships and communication skills.
