Artisan Violin Studio

Artisan Violin Studio Providing one-on-one private violin lessons to the area of Markham, Ontario and its vicinity.

It is our mission to provide a well-rounded learning experience for our students. Therefore, unlike most private teachers who simply provide private lessons, we here at the Artisan Violin Studio goes a bit further. Not only that we provide essential lessons to our students, we also prepare them for their choice of examinations. The current examination boards in consideration are the Royal Conservatory of Music (Canada), the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (England) and the Trinity Guildhall International Examinations (England). With over 25 years in teaching experiences, our violin teacher is board-registered with both RCM and ABRSM. In addition to examinations, we also prepare students for their choice of competitions or music festivals. To further enhance their experience in music performances, we also hold an annual concert – an invaluable performing opportunity to all of our students in a real concert hall environment. Unlike other studios/schools, there is no cost for our students to participate in this concert except for their practice time. If this sounds like the kind of violin learning experience that you are looking for, feel free to drop us a line or give us a call to find out more.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of violinist Janine Jansen as professor of violin, effective November 2023.
Dutch violinist Janine Jansen is one of the most sought-after musicians worldwide both as a soloist and chamber musician. She works regularly with the leading international orchestras and conductors and has released numerous prize winning recordings. She has founded and is the Artistic Director of the International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht.
„With enthusiasm and joy we welcome Janine at Kronberg Academy. We look forward to her appointment that will be a great inspiration to our students and the audience in the Casals Forum,“ says Friedemann Eichhorn, Artistic Director and Head of study programs.
Kronberg Academy, founded by CEO Raimund Trenkler in 1993, has established itself as one of the leading schools for young soloists. Faculty members include Mihaela Martin, Christian Tetzlaff, Antje Weithaas, Nobuko Imai, Tabea Zimmermann, Frans Helmerson, Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt and Sir András Schiff.
Janine Jansen will perform in two concerts together with Gidon Kremer and Kremerata Baltica at the 2024 Kronberg Festival.
