đżđ From Petals to Puzzles: A Day of Discovery đ¸đ§Š
What do colorful blooms and clever clues have in common? Both made for one unforgettable adventure!
Our junior journey began among the brilliant reds, yellows, and purples of the botanical garden â where every flower told a story and natureâs artistry was on full display. đş From candy-striped verbena to snowball viburnum and elegant lily of the valley, the beauty was endless.
Then it was time to shift gears: into detective mode we went! đľď¸ââď¸ Locked in an escape room filled with secrets and twists, the kids worked together, cracked codes, and raced the clock â bringing history to life with hands-on problem solving and teamwork.
⨠A perfect balance of beauty and brains â all in one day.
Which part would you have enjoyed more: the peaceful blooms or the thrilling mystery?

Our junior botanists have been busy!
Over the past two weeks, theyâve explored the fascinating world of plantsâtaking nature walks, collecting flowers, dissecting them, and observing their hidden details under microscopes. Every petal, stem, and seed told a story.
This is what hands-on, small group learning looks like at Veritas: curiosity-led, immersive, and unforgettable.

Our junior class had the sweetest field trip ever! We spent the day at Willowgrove Farms learning how to tap maple trees and collect sap â their very first time experiencing this Canadian tradition!
The kids learned how to identify maple trees using the â3 Bsâ (Bark, Branches, and Buds), how to carefully drill and tap the trees, and how to know when the sap is ready to flow. They even discovered how much sap it actually takes to make just a little maple syrup⌠spoiler: itâs a lot!
The best part? Watching the sap boil down into golden syrup â and of course, tasting the freshest, most delicious maple syrup weâve ever had!
Hands-on learning at its finest. One sweet memory our students wonât forget!

Whether weâre in the classroom or out exploring the world, we believe that the best way for children to learn is by getting their hands on real-life experiences. Last week, our juniors took a deep dive into the wonders of the aquarium đ , where they didnât just observeâthey touched, asked questions, and learned through play!
đŤ From teamwork and creativity to curiosity and critical thinking, our students are constantly growing by doing. Itâs not just about what we learnâitâs about how we learn.
