Tone Labs Music Academy

🎊 Congratulations to all students who performed in our September mini-recital! They showed us just how charismatic, talented, and hardworking they are!

🎤 A highlight of the event was Nelson’s studio visit, where he shared his experiences and words of encouragement with Tone Labs students after winning third place in Hong Kong’s《中年好聲音4》competition. He is truly such an inspiration to all of us!

🏆 We were also pleased to present The Youngstars’ Champion plaque from the CBC Music Class Challenge 2026 for Best Original Song!

🏅 We also took this opportunity to unveil the new TLMA “Golden Standard” T-shirts, exclusively made for our leading students who are wonderful role models in the academy.

They were presented to The Youngstars and The Eclipse who also took First Place at the Markham Rib X Battle of the Bands 2026.

🫶 Each member of The Youngstars and The Eclipse took a moment to share their advice and encouragement to other students. It was a beautiful demonstration of musicianship, community, and persistence. They lit up the faces of many newly inspired young musicians!

🎶 Mini-recitals are held every two months in the studio. They are free, beginner-friendly, and perfect for students who are looking for opportunities to perform in front of a supportive crowd. We cannot wait to host our November mini-recital and we hope to see you there!

Our teachers don’t just share their knowledge in the classroom, they continue finding new ways to inspire the next generation of musicians! 🥁

We’re so proud of our drum instructor Edgardo for releasing his own drum method book, Developing Muscle Memory: Vol. 1.

With progressive exercises for drummers of all levels, it was created to help students build strong technique, coordination, musicality, and better practice habits.

Congratulations, Edgardo! We hope this is the first of many volumes to come! 👏🎉

We’ve had the privilege of watching Kristopher grow as a drummer, so seeing him up on that big stage performing alongside his dad was definitely a proud moment 🥹👏👏

Beyond how well he played, what struck us most was simply seeing a father and son sharing music together.

Not many families get to experience a moment like this. To stand on the same stage, perform together in front of a full audience, and communicate with each other through music is an experience we believe they’ll both cherish dearly.

Kristopher, we are incredibly proud of you! Seeing our students take what they’ve learned and bring it onto stages like this is always special, but this performance meant a little more. 🥁

Congratulations to both father and son on a beautiful moment together 🫶

🔊 Head over to Spotify to listen!

🔍 我們的歌 - 張崇基 Andrew Cheung

It was definitely nerve-racking when Andrew first suggested that he wanted to attempt this recording as a live-off-the-floor one take approach 😱

Then on the day of recording, we found out that filming was going to take place AT THE SAME TIME 💀

The session turned out to be a lot of fun and a great learning experience for our team and interns. 🙌🙌

The final product is now streaming on Spotify! Give it a listen and let us know what you think!
