ASD Wonder Centre Inc. Support for autistic children in Coquitlam and Maple Ridge Kirsten and Jocelyn are Behaviour Consultants, and are Board Certified Behaviour Analysts.

ASD Wonder was formed in 2016 to provide families with a team approach to helping our students and families. The Wonder Society for Learning and Language Development, a non-profit organization, opened its doors in Poco in 2018. They completed their Masters of Education degrees in Special Education with a concentration in Autism and Developmental Disabilities at the University of British Columbia. Also on the team as Board Certified Behaviour Analysts: Danni has joined bringing over 10 years experience and Julia brings her joint SLP certification. Our Consultants and Assistant Consultants, including Jodi and Kelly are listed on the Registered Autism Service Providers List (RASP) or are undergoing internship, including Janna, Juliet, Heba, and Meret. Our interventionists employed by the ASD Wonder Centre and Wonder Society are carefully selected, wonderful people, who receive ongoing training and support by our team. Because the Interventionists are employees of ASD Wonder, they are covered by Worksafe BC, insured, complete criminal record checks, and receive stat and vacation pay. We want to provide a supportive work environment that will attract the most talented teachers to our team! We are able to offer Speech and Language Consultation and Occupational Therapy when needed to supplement your child's goal plan. Wonder further rounds out the approach with a our Music Therapist, Durae, and our Recreational Therapist, Vanessa. Our teams work closely together in a multi-discipline model to ensure all skill areas are taught throughout the program. We can offer you the team you need to help your child all from one place. This means that budgeting your autism funding becomes simplified and streamlined. We will help you do it!

October is Community Inclusion Month in BC!

Everyone deserves to belong, have their voice heard, and make choices about their own life.

This month, we celebrate people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their contributions to our communities. We also need to speak up about the barriers they face.

As BC replaces diagnosis-based autism funding with new eligibility rules, some autistic children and youth risk losing direct financial support. Celebrating inclusion while families face losing the supports that make participation possible demands serious scrutiny.

No autistic person should be made to feel “not disabled enough” to deserve support. Needs don’t disappear because someone falls outside a funding threshold.

Inclusion requires accessible services, meaningful financial support, and decisions shaped by people with lived experience.

This October, let’s ask the BC government to make its funding decisions reflect its message of inclusion. Everyone belongs—and that commitment must extend beyond words. 💗

Getting organized for fall? Consider supporting our non-profit, The Wonder Society, when purchasing labels for your child’s belongings. It’s a simple way to get ready for the season while helping us continue supporting children and families in our community. Mabel's Labels is a great way to label ALL of your child's belongings as they head back to school and childcare. Click the fundraising option in upper right corner and search for us!
