📢 Moose on the Loose Update 🫎
Unfortunately, we will not be hosting our annual Moose on the Loose event this year.
While the trails may be quiet right now, our volunteers have been anything but! We’ve been working hard throughout the off-season to get the ski hill ready for another winter. This includes lift maintenance, having the chalet deck replaced, and steadily working through preventative maintenance on our ski and snowboard equipment.
Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts among our volunteers, combined with the incredible amount of rain we’ve received this summer, the Moose on the Loose trail will not be able to be properly maintained and ready in time to host the event this year.
We know Moose on the Loose has become a fun tradition for many of you, and we’ll definitely miss seeing everyone out enjoying the trail!
We hope to see you all again next year for Moose on the Loose! 🫎🌲
And in the meantime, we’ll keep working behind the scenes to get everything ready for another great winter season! 🎿🏂❄️

💙 A Huge Thank You! 💙
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Canadian Natural Resources Limited for choosing our ski hill as part of your Day of Giving. Your crew accomplished an incredible amount of work in just a few short hours!
Together, they:
✔️ Removed our old deck
✔️ Took down several problem trees
✔️ Cleared brush around the hill
✔️ Checked some electrical work
A special thank you as well to Silvertip Oilfield Services for sending a couple of crew members to lend a hand, along with a skid steer. Your support made an enormous difference.
They say many hands make light work, and that couldn't have been more true. What would have taken our volunteer-run organization a year to complete was finished in just four hours.
Removal of the deck was the first step in our deck replacement project and we are so incredibly thankful for the volunteer labor. Our grant funding will go that much further now.
Community partnerships like these are what help rural communities thrive. Your generosity, hard work, and willingness to give back have made a lasting impact on our little ski hill and everyone who enjoys it.
From all of us at the Manning & District Ski Club—thank you for investing your time, equipment, and energy into our community. ❤️❄️

❄️🎿 THAT’S A WRAP – 2025/2026 SEASON 🎿❄️
Well… I guess I finally have to admit it — that’s a wrap on our 2025/2026 season.
We had really hoped the road and parking lot would dry up enough to sneak in a few spring skiing days, but the water and mud are unrelenting, and it’s time to call it.
This year brought incredible snow levels — so many powder days ❄❄! A huge change from the last few seasons where we had to shovel and groom and recycle every bit of snow we could. We hope everyone had as much fun as we did out there enjoying this great snow.
It was amazing to see so many new faces, especially so many young skiers and riders getting started. Remember: if you can ski in Manning, you can ski anywhere!
Take those skills and go explore all of the ski areas that Western Canada has to offer — this is something the whole family can enjoy together. 💙
We were incredibly lucky to have an AMAZING group of volunteers this season. It’s not always easy to find enough people to keep things running, but this year it felt effortless. A huge shoutout to the Valley B Aviation crew for stepping up in a big way, and to Della and Jackie for being such reliable, welcoming chalet attendants. And to everyone who lent a hand — thank you. This hill simply wouldn’t exist without your time and dedication.
And finally — THANK YOU to all of our sponsors.
We truly mean it when we say we couldn’t operate without you. This hill runs on a shoestring budget made up of fundraising, the odd grant now and again, and your generous support. Without it, the doors wouldn’t open and the lift wouldn’t spin.
Thank you to everyone who came out, supported, volunteered, and made this season what it was. We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next winter.
Until then — stay safe, enjoy the off-season, and we’ll see you back on the hill soon. ❄️💙

❄️🎿 WE ARE OPEN SUNDAY! 🎿❄️
We will be OPEN — Sunday, April 12 from 12:00–4:00 PM!
Apologies for the short notice — we were waiting to see how the road and driveway conditions held up before making the call. 4WD vehicles recommended with soft conditions. With any luck we will freeze hard enough overnight and not have any issues.
We have PLENTY of snow with expected spring conditions, so grab your gear and come enjoy some time on the hill before it's too late!
👢 Pro tip: Consider wearing your rubber boots — there are a few puddles to dodge in the parking lot!
See you out there! ❄️✨
We will continue to operate on a last-minute basis when weather permits and the parking lot holds up.

🏂 Snowboard Lessons Available!
Mr. Begley will be at the hill tonight for anyone looking to learn or improve:

🎰❄️ CASINO VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – 4 SPOTS LEFT! 🎿
We’re so close to being fully staffed for our casino fundraiser on May 7 & 8 in Grande Prairie — we need 4 more volunteers!
This event is incredibly important for our hill. The funds raised will help cover our insurance costs for the next two seasons, helping keep the hill open and operating for our whole community.
🙋♂️ If you’re able to help out, please message us ASAP
Thank you to everyone who has already signed up — your support makes a huge difference. Let’s get these last few spots filled! 💙❄️
