Tomorrow is World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), known to some as day, a day to raise awareness of and celebrate people living with Down syndrome and to advocate for their rights, inclusion and well-being. The date for WDSD, March 21st or the 21st day of the 3rd month, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome. We encourage everyone in our Maverick and Centurion community to wear colourful, mismatched socks as we celebrate our friends living with Down syndrome and recognize that it is our differences that make us beautiful!

Our 2024 reindeer hunt winner, is Nina Mocon!!! Thank you to everyone who participated and helped! It’s been a stressful year so far, but we hope reindeer hunt helped bring some joy back into the school year! We will see you all next year! 😉

Well centurions, it’s official! It’s holiday break! We hope you had an amazing time at our assembly, I know I did! It was a fun last day, thank you to Mr. Sharpes class, the staff and everyone in student council that helped! student council wishes you an amazing break, don’t forget to relax and get ready to meet us back at school January 6th!

Centurions are you ready for this years movember challenge?!

We have 9 amazing volunteers, Mr Pascoe, Mr Kennedy, Mr Kirk, Mr Rosenthal, Mr Smith, Mr Pidhirney, Mr Hopkins, Mr Aquino and the one and only, Mr Curtis!

In case you’re wondering what CHS’ Movember challenge is, here’s a rundown:
Throughout the month of November student council will be taking photos of our competitors facial hair every Monday and putting their photos on jars. The jars will be on a table in front of the caf everyday at lunch, we encourage everyone to bring in some change for whoever’s facial hair you like the most! The money goes towards Men’s prostate and testicular cancer research and awareness!

Today was definitely a success centurions!
Thanks so much to everyone who dressed up and ran the Photo Booth! Congratulations to our boys volleyball teams for an excellent tournament! Good job!

The costumes were amazing centurions! I think the tech teachers really outdid themselves this year! We can’t wait to see what everyone does next year 😁
