Rene’s Preschool Program

Today was an outdoor day!
Thankfully the rain didn’t pour down on us just a mist of it.
CLOUD FINDER: I brought out the cloud finders to see what level the clouds were at today. We decided they were in the middle level on our cloud finder.
Everyone seemed to identify a different cloud they saw today.
LIONS PARK: The children loved the tire swing. We also brought our stuffies out for the bear paw picnic.
CIRCLE TIME: We did circle time outside today on the deck and sang some songs to the guitar and read a story about a snail who left behind a grey trail.

OUTDOORS: What a wonderful day. We had some cooler weather to enjoy the great outdoors.
Our surprise today was water balloons. We played a catching game and the children loved it.
INDOORS: This month is all about weather/space.
Inside we made a sun dial. We’ll put this outside on a sunny day and see how the shadow moves from the start of the day to the end of the day.
CIRCLE TIME: Today we looked at all the planet names to see what each one looks like.
I also brought my guitar and we sang London Bridge, Daddy Finger, Twinkle Twinkle little star and a few other songs.

What a wonderful beautiful day!
Thanks you to Karen for letting us visit the library today and give us a tour. The children also really enjoyed the story-time and Lego building.
As we wrap up our community helpers month we really appreciate all the places that let us come visit!
We have a wonderful community of people.

CRAFT: The children make some beautiful butterflies that they took home today.
They had to colour the coffee filters and spray them with water to watch the colours spread.
OUTDOORS: We had a nature scavenger hunt today. Each child had a page to fill out on what items they saw outside. We also picked up litter to clean up the community.
NEXT MONTH THEME: Next month we’ll be learning all about the weather.

We had lots of energy today to get out 😆.
OUTDOORS: It was a windy one but we had time to go enjoy the park for a little while.
INDOORS: We had fun learning about planting today.
The children asked me where I learned my planting skills 😉.
They also had lots of fun in the new ice cream shop, making tea and fishing with the magnet fishing rod.
CIRCLE TIME: We did lots of songs with instruments and preparing for the heritage home visit on Wednesday.

Was another full day!
We had fun outside on this beautiful day.
The children loved the slides and puddles.
INDOORS: Today we worked on matching the right equipment with the correct community helper on our worksheets. The children also enjoyed building with the magnet blocks and the marble run.
CIRCLE TIME: We have lots of songs we’re working on for our Heritage home visit in a couple weeks.
We also sang some songs about community helpers.
NEXT PRESCHOOL: We’ll be working on writing our letters for our post office visit next week and continue finishing our worksheets.

Thanks to the Lumsden fire station for a tour and ride!
We learned so much about fire safety and the children loved it.
This month is all about community helpers.

EASTER PARTY: Today we had a fun Easter party finding eggs, making a craft and so much more.

Well winter is still here! I may not be super excited about more snow but the children love it, that makes it all worthwhile. They love playing outside and being creative!
We also got our community helpers coloured. These will go on our wall with their faces in them for the month of April.

EMOTIONS: Our craft today we made emotion puppets that we’ll be using in our story on Wednesdsy.
Then we did an experiment along with talking about what can happen when we get angry and how our emotions can sometimes explode.
So we gave the children some good tools to use if they’re feeling angry.
We also had some clear water to represent when we’re calm and happy.
STORYTIME: Today we played our emotions on the drums to a song. We also read some stories about emotions.
OUTDOORS: We explored outside today and saw some trees starting to bloom.
