Next grade 6 planning meeting is tomorrow night!

Wednesday January 11

@ 6:30 pm in the library

I’ve added a few people as ” page managers “ you just have to accept the invite I think. I can’t figure out why everyone in the group can’t share, it’s all set to “everyone” or “anyone can post”.

I’m not up to managing this constantly and I need help going forward.

Thanks, Anna

Good evening folks!!

FRIDAY INFO
Can anyone that’s been organized to bring anything for Saturday please bring it to the school TOMORROW? I will be there at 3pm, but it can be dropped off at any point during the day. It can be put straight into the kitchen, dropped at the office, or I’m sure any of the grade six classrooms wouldn’t turn it away either.
PLEASE LABEL YOUR STUFF!
If you’re unable to bring it tomorrow, you need to contact me asap. I will have to hunt down/buy anything that doesn’t come.
We have enough people coming for setup so if you haven’t confirmed with me about coming don’t feel like you need to! We will meet at three by the gym.

SATURDAY INFO
Please come at 8:30, or drop your kids at 8:30 at least. If it’s too cold the kids won’t be forced to go outside, but -5 or warmer they may be outside so make sure they dress appropriately.
Brenda and Terry Knutsvik will be leading the cooking area, but I’m still looking for someone to run the juice/coffee station, and someone to run the money station. I will appoint if necessary Saturday morning as well 😂
We have several people volunteering and I’m so happy you’ve all stepped up. We would still love as many grade six students there as possible!! Parents, please if you haven’t been in touch don’t stress, there will be more opportunities in the future!
Thank you to everyone who is donating stuff for this awesome event!

Please look over my notes, I'm sure I've missed something. But I think it's a pretty good start to get things organized.

Flyer to go home tomorrow. Rose Derry will distribute to the teachers outboxes in the am.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST IS ON!!
Please comment here or DM Anna Owen if you are willing to help.
We will run it 9-12 Saturday December 3rd.
**All grade six kids are requested to attend/help (with or without parent's help). There will be lots they can do, specifically drawing attention to what we are doing.
I will create a chart of what needs to be done and who's doing it this weekend.

It is great the interest in doing the pancake breakfast next Saturday but if it is not organized and planned relatively quick, then it is not going to happen. The word has to get out through the week at glance from the principal, info sent out on the PAC page, info sent out to the community and we have to allow people to book it on their calendars. Unfortunately, it is cutting it close to get the info out, which will be a missed opportunity.

As mentioned at the meeting that there needs to be a point person or few who are willing to plan, organize, make decisions or at the least gather the info from others. They also need to be the ones who communicate what is going to be done on this page as well to our Admin, PAC and teachers. The ideas are great but it needs to come together.

My hope is that someone or some people can grab the reins and get these activities planned and organized. Most of the information for the following week is sent out by our Admin at the end of school tomorrow. If there is no plan by the time that info is sent out, we will have to pull the plug.

An account has been set up at the Return-It bottle depot. Please start spreading the word.

Grade 6 Year End Fundraiser

Hello JW Inglis and Lumby Community,
This year is flying by, and we have already come to that point where we are looking at the year-end celebration for our Grade 6 students at JW Inglis. Last year, the Lumby community stepped up, as they usually do, and supported our fundraiser through donations and the collection bottles/cans/juice containers. We are hoping to continue that support and to show this year’s Grade 6s that we appreciate their hard work by making this year a memorable year at JW Inglis. The plan for the end of the year is to go ziplining and conquer the obstacle adventure course at Oyama Ziplines.
We are asking, if you would like to support the Grade 6s, to drop off your bottles/cans/juice containers at the Return It Recycling Depot on 1818 Miller St. Lumby. Their hours of operation are M-Sat 10am-4pm.

There is an account under “Grade 6 Year End”. Please let them know ahead of time that you wish the funds to be donated to this account. If you sort the items yourself, the full amount will be donated. If you require the bottle depot to sort it, then they will deduct 25%.
Here is a link that explains what are acceptable products that can be returned for a refund.

Student should not be going door to door collecting returns. Please just help spread the word with family and friends.
Thank you everyone for your support, especially our local PAC who work tirelessly to bring the best to our students.
